Daily Inspiration: Meet Christian Mosi

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christian Mosi.

Hi Christian, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Derniele but I’m known in the fashion world as Christian Mosi. I’m a healthcare executive during the day and by night I’m a fashionista. I wear many hats such as fashion consultant, freelance fashion writer, and freelance fashion assistant. My day starts at 5:30 am when I’m up getting ready for the gym, reach to  work by 9 and after 5 pm I’m either attending events, working on my brand, or attending zoom meetings. The way I got started in the industry was as a freelance assistant for larger influencers and brands. Working with them provided me with insight into the industry. I’m a native of Winter Park, FL. A big shoutout to my high school Lake Howell High School and college Bethune Cookman University and Rollins College.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
No, as Buju Banton would say “It’s not an easy road and many see the glamour and the glitter, so they think a bed of rose”. I faced a lot of obstacles! People would shoot down my ideas, Say I’m not qualified or not want to work with me because they didn’t see my value. I overcame all of this by staying true to my authentic self and creating opportunities for myself versus depending on someone to open a door for me. I decided it was best for me to learn the foundations to build my own door. Nobody in life has the final say, continue to fight for what you believe in. If something is not working find another solution, if your surroundings are not giving you the resources you need seek elsewhere but never forget your end goal!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m the founder and EIC for Christian Mosi Blog. I founded this blog in 2017 when I lived in Orlando, FL.  I wanted this blog to be a new destination for others to find out about fashion trends, fashion news and be exposed to Caribbean Culture. I’m famously known for my street style during NYFW. I take months planning outfits and executing the perfect weekend. It takes a lot of work to get ready for fashion week. Most people think it’s an opportunity to dress up and attend shows. During this week I’m working for a freelance publication, networking meeting new potential clients, connecting existing clients with opportunities to get their clothes in front of celebrities, and lastly conducting interviews every day for a week while balancing my other duties.

What do you think about luck?
I’m not a believer in luck but a believer in prayer. Prayer and faith have delivered me to the highs of my life and lows. Everything in life will have obstacles and wonderful memories. It’s how we choose to appreciate every moment and apply that to our work ethic. I want to take the time to thank my friends, family and social media followers for their continued support and love. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to like a post or engage I truly appreciate every aspect of it all.
