Today we’d like to introduce you to Christian Moyers
Christian, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Orange Blossom Trail is the first time my best friends from highschool and I all ended up in the same project again since highschool. Joel, Gabe and I have been playing music together since Junior year and our highschool band broke up shortly after graduation in 2017. We all played in and out of smaller bands over the years until in 2021 we got together to play some songs I had written with a couple of buddies of ours from the scene. OBT once meant something else believe it or not, but when we changed it Orange Blossom Trail just seemed right. Through a lot of hard work and networking, we’re finally in a good spot as a pretty well known Orlando local in the emo and punk scenes.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
We’ve had plenty of struggles as a band. Inter member issues, issues in the scene, personal life struggles, but we’ve always had each other. We’re truly a family and I know I would do anything for my guys and vice versa.
We’ve had our fair share of bad shows, as I think any band has, but our good shows heavily outweigh the few bad ones.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We started out as a straight forward Power Pop band, basically Pop Punk but more pop minded. Think of a band like Weezer or Wheatus.
Over the years, we’ve really found our identity in Emo music. We’ve never lost our Power Pop roots, and they’re very much present in our music still, but we all absolutely adore the Emo scene and the music it produces. It also allows us to do some harder songs without losing that twinkly pop sound we love so much
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Some original band members who are no longer in the band but absolutely helped form our identity or people who have heavily contributed to our history and deserve thanks are:
Aaron Shook – Now in Sid Stratton
Noe Rios – Now in CanVas
Asher Mallory
Diego Namnum – In Jupiter Storm and Blaidd
Tyler Fieldhouse – GILT, Second Impact and Iliedtomyself
Matt Goings – Production from Killian Studios
Special thanks to them for their contribution over the years!
Also thank you to our current members:
Joel Nieves
Jonath Chuck
Gabe Gutierrez
AJ Brand
Toni Carbello
And I do think I’ve worked hard enough to thank myself, so thanks to me haha. – Christian Moyers
