Today we’d like to introduce you to Cody Copeland
Hi Cody, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started cutting grass about 15 plus years ago in Memphis TN. It was good money and I was just a hard worker. I always went to where paid the most and for me that was cutting grass. The company got so big and my father became a partner and opened a branch in the Orlando area back in 2009-2010. At the time I had no idea where cutting grass was going to take me. It was until I got older and moved to Orlando back in 2015, that I wanted to pursue this as a career. I got really good, and it was honestly therapeutic at times. I helped run my parents business, and as they say sometimes working with family is hard. So I took my passion and knowledge and made it benefit me the most before I lost the passion. And January of 2022 Premier Image Landscaping became real. I made the biggest move of my life when my, now wife, was pregnant with our first born. Our son. My mindset completely changed. I had purpose and I put everything I had into the business so my family could have a great start at a future.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the hardest things was work and home life balance, injuries, and financial issues. Starting a business I put my skills to use right away. Always looking for work, stalking rants and raves Facebook pages in areas I service to get leads. Working 6 days a week Sun up to Sun down. Sacrificing birthdays, going out with my wife, not having gifts for my kids during Christmas. As a family we sacrificed a lot. For me that’s the biggest struggle. That’s time you will never get back. And that’s one thing that has kept me me going. I can’t quit now knowing I sacrificed all of that and it would be for nothing. Injuries come and go. Having 2 herniated discs did not help in the beginning. The next struggle was just getting started. Making sure we had money for bills. I took everything out of my 401k, sold all my projects, and items of value that we didn’t need or use to jump start the business.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a quality first lawn and landscape maintenance company. We focus on full maintenance for properties entire landscapes. We perform all types of landscape enhancement jobs from pavers to plant installs.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
When I was a kid all I wanted to do was just be outside and explore. I use to build dirt jumps in a field behind our house. I was really into bmx but gave it up after the second broken arm and surgery in my early 20s. I played basketball since the 5th grade. I was the quiet kid. I wanted to be the next NBA star or BMX star. Once I knew basketball wasn’t an option passed highschool I focused more on bmx until multiple injuries. I also had a passion for cars when I started driving. Fast and the furious was one of my favorite movies. I had a fast lifestyle mentality, an adrenaline junkie. I was honestly all over the place. I was always looking for that next rush.
