Today we’d like to introduce you to Dan Fallen.
Hi Dan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
As a kid, I was inspired by many rockstars of the day; acquiring my first guitar at age 6 and playing in my first band at age 11, I found myself fascinated by the universal language that music could speak. At 14, I discovered bass music and began researching how to design sound and create electronic beats. Within weeks, I was immersed in writing dozens of songs and bringing my ideas to life. Embracing a variety of genres, I created a unique and distinct style that makes it easy for listeners to tell when it’s one of my songs that they’re hearing. I created an evolutionary path to grow exponentially as an artist by sculpting my sound from scratch using many synthesizers and plugins. I established my label in October 2013 and began working with artists in the local scene; by 2016, the label was dropping tracks from artists worldwide. As I progressed, my focus began to create intense and other-worldly experiences explicitly curated for the audience my label attracts. Today, I am still chasing that same dream and playing at festivals around the country, and having my music heard worldwide has been unreal.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The life of a musician is full of ups and downs. The struggles come in waves, and when it rains, it pours, but I prefer not to focus on the negatives and keep moving forward regardless of the obstacles in my way.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might need to be more familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in experimental bass music. I make tracks that cover a variety of subgenres of dubstep, trap, and freeform bass, sometimes all in one track. I’m known for throwing down unearthly sets that use musical keys to unlock the mind. I’m the proudest of how far my label has come in this time, and seeing all these fantastic artists drop tracks on it is truly inspiring. What sets my team and me apart from others is that we have put our hearts and souls into this, and every bit of it comes from a place of love and passion for this music.
