Daily Inspiration: Meet Danielle Lazala

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Lazala.

Hi Danielle, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Self-taught artist who loves to create and spread mental health awareness as well. I started my small business back in 2017 in Miami, FL. I’ve always had love for the arts and crafts so I began playing around with more paints and materials. Once I moved to Orlando, FL in 2019, I began to branch out more and try new things. Fast forward a bit and I’ve been blessed enough to see my brand grow at its own pace. It’s been such a fun journey. I’ve expanded my creations from solely art canvases to more original wall art, home decor, stationary goods, apparel and even some fun murals. I love using fun and bright colors to indicate positivity. I also enjoy incorporating lots of florals to represent the “keep blooming” saying which to me, stands for self-growth. Going through this journey has helped me find myself as a woman and an artist. There is nothing more rewarding than witnessing your own growth.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
While the journey has been so fun, it hasn’t always been rainbows and butterflies. Some of the struggles that we might not always talk about because we’re always trying to show the positive side of the journey is burnout and artist block while trying to keep up with a social media presence. We all know how important it is to keep up online, and I absolutely love meeting new people and making sure I’m creating art for everyone to relate and enjoy.

I’ve always said it’s very important to maker sure we’re taking care of ourselves as well. We are not machines. We need rest. We need time to disconnect and refresh our minds, otherwise that joy and creativity will feel forced.

It’s a working process, but trying to balance yourself, your mind and your time can be very challenging at times.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I work in the psychiatric healthcare field. My job is to keep patients safe when they’re going through rough times and feel the most unsafe. I love using art as an outlet for my patients. Personally, art has always been a main coping skill through the rough days. I love incorporating the arts and mental health together as it’s a way to express how you feel.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I have been lucky enough to build a support system through my friends and family and even supporters on social media. I can honestly say my art has helped me make many friendships and be able to connect easier with others.
