Today we’d like to introduce you to Danita Harrison.
Hi Danita, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I always loved photography, but I also realized that it was an expensive hobby to invest in. Finally, in 2020, I decided that I wanted to make that investment and I purchased my first camera and lens. I have three older sisters Eugenia Cason, Angelita Bowers and my twin Carina Harrison. All my sisters have a talent. Eugenia sells jewelry and styles clients, Angelita is a Pro-Make up artist and Carina is a hairstylist. I immediately pitched a business idea to my sisters, thinking what if we all worked together and got a studio putting our services together we can make a better experience for our clients. They loved it. But all of us had great steady government jobs and making a commitment to run a business just seemed more in the far future than near due to our responsibilities.
I did not let up; November of 2020 rolled around. I found this building I thought would be great for us to work out of. I spoke to the owner and with about three grand to my name at that time, I went ahead and signed the lease the next day. My sisters knew absolutely nothing about it. November 2020 Shots & Vibes Photography and Glam Studio was established. This studio has been the push we all needed to individually embrace our own talents and take them to next level. Business has been consistent and overwhelming in a good way. As of today, we are booked up to October from weddings to birthday shoots, even business branding photo shoots.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The biggest struggle for me is that I was not financially prepared. Running a business is not cheap, and when something breaks or is needed, it has to get done.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am the owner of Shots & Vibes Photography and Gam Studio. We offer full glam services for photoshoots. Hair, make-up, content coordination and we also style you if these are your wishes. What sets us apart from the rest is we provide an experience you will never forget. We consult with the client learn their wishes and desires and make their day come to life. The client receives all their services in the studio, creating an atmosphere of security. This way, the client is very comfortable when it’s time to shoot, capturing their best moments.
