Today we’d like to introduce you to Desiree Diaz.
Hi Desiree, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey began in the fast-paced world of Los Angeles. With a degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising, I was working as a celebrity stylist assistant. However, the reality of the industry didn’t match the lifestyle I wanted; I found myself working in hospitality just to keep up with my bills and student loans.
I knew I needed a change—a skill that offered flexibility, balance, and the ability to travel.
I decided to get serious about my finances using Dave Ramsey’s Baby Steps. I shared my debt-payoff journey transparently on social media, which inspired a former coworker. After four years of Ubering to work, he saved enough cash to buy his first reliable car.
To celebrate, I invited him to a Dave Ramsey event at a local church. That night sparked a spiritual awakening for me. I had been looking for a church home as an adult, and when we walked into a service the following Sunday, we both knew we were home. We were baptized shortly after, fueled by a new mantra: “If nothing changes, nothing changes.” For my birthday, my family—who are incredibly intentional with gifts—wanted to support my new health and fitness journey. As a fair-skinned Latina, I was looking for a safe alternative to sun tanning. I began researching the spray tanning industry and was immediately hooked.
My family surprised me by gifting me my LLC and starter equipment. I decided to go all-in. I flew back to LA to train with a world-renowned celebrity spray tan artist. The moment I walked into the training room, I stopped in my tracks. Written in bold letters on the wall was the exact phrase I said the day I was baptized:
“If nothing changes, nothing changes.”
In that moment, I knew I was exactly where I was meant to be. The rest is history.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Entrepreneurship has so many obstacles, as your the service provider, marketing genius, and making sure your clients are happy. Growing a business where people naturally tan in the sun was an obstacle in itself, as the sun is great for some vitamin c, it’s not safe long term. Understanding that a spray tan can give you that even, natural glow without having to spend hours in the sun was the way I grew my business. With my service, I don’t often receive photos from clients so I put together photoshoots to showcase my work, showing that spray tans are for all body types and skin tones. Showing diversity has helped my business grow tremendously. As a business owner, you have to think outside the box, why would a client book with you vs someone else? What makes you stand out? I learned quickly that details matter.

I specialize in natural spray tans for brides. It’s such a joy to be apart of some of the biggest moments in my clients lives.
I recently went viral with a bridal makeup artist posting a video on Instagram showcasing our client and the work we did together. This video has received 4 MIlLLION views. I also have had the Tik tok extension queen, Rachel Byrum showcase my spray tan during Premiere Orlando last year.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Take care of the clients, and the rest will naturally grow.
