Today we’d like to introduce you to Edwin Lebron

Hi Edwin, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Edwin Lebron, also known as “El Sonero Urbano”, is a talented young artist from Trenton, New Jersey, with a passion for music that dates back to his childhood.
Growing up, he was exposed to music through his family, who were all talented singers and musicians. Edwin began playing instruments at the age of 4 and went on to attend one of the best vocal/music schools in the East Coast, The Westminster Conservatory of Music at Rider University.
Edwin has had an impressive career, taking part in various singing competitions and winning first and second place in several of them. He has also performed at some of the most iconic venues in the world, including the Apollo, Radio City, and Carnegie Hall. He has worked as a backup vocalist for numerous top Latin artists, including Brenda K Starr, Ismael Miranda, Gilberto Santa Rosa, India, Tito Nieves, Tony Vega, Frankie Negron, Lalo Rodriguez, Miosotis, Jerry Rivera, Jose Alberto “El Canario”, Andy Montañez, Viti Ruiz, and many others.
Edwin has also collaborated with other artists on various projects. He co-wrote the hit song “Por Temor” with salsa singer Miosotis and has recorded with Christian artist Puchi Colon, R&B duo Nina Sky, Don Felipe Muñiz (Marc Anthony’s father), Miosotis, Luisito Quintero, Raul Agraz, Tito De Gracia, Erben Perez, and many others.
In addition to his work as a background vocalist and collaborator, Edwin has also released his own salsa album and singles. He has also opened shows for Gilberto Santa Rosa, Tito Nieves & Elvis Crespo at the CopaCabana in NY and El Gran Combo De Puerto Rico at Fiesta on the parkway in Philadelphia.

He has also written original compositions for Orquesta Fuego, Tito De Gracia y Naoka Jam, Salsa icon Jose Alberto “El Canario”, and Fania All-Star Icon Ismael Miranda.
Throughout his career, Edwin Lebron has proven himself to be a talented and versatile artist who is dedicated to bringing a fresh sound to the Tropical/Salsa genre. Despite those who claim that Salsa is dead, Edwin remains optimistic and continues to push boundaries with his music.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It is never an easy road. Unfortunately, in this business, if you don’t have money for radio play, you don’t get played. Its simple. So we as independent singers, strive and push our music through all digital music platforms. It’s the only way.
Using YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and all other social networks is sometimes not even good enough unless you pay to boost what you want to promote.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Well, I dabble in a little bit of everything. I am a singer, but I also play multiple instruments. Being able to do that, allows me to think while I’m arranging and composing as well. It makes it a lot easier for me because I know where certain things will go when arranging.
What sets me apart from others is my performance. Many singers just basically say either in one spot to sing, or just walk around the stage. I like to dance, get the crowd hyped and let the crowd sing. But while doing that, making sure the crowd is engaged in my show.
Im very proud of all of my achievements. Im also proud of what I haven’t achieved yet because those missing achievements is what I strive for all the time. I work hard to try and make it happen.
Now, I do have a few amazing achievements, apart from traveling the world doing what I do, I have composed many songs for big salsa stars like Quiero Bailar Con Ella by Jose Alberto El Canario, Tienes Que Llegar Preparao by Ismael Miranda, Candela & Sabor With Love by salsa band Orquesta Fuego, Mi Bajo Sabroson by Kevin Ceballo and many more..

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I mean, we all use certain apps and books to help throughout life.
I use the bible app to read my daily verse and keep me motivated the entire day.
I love God. And everywhere I go I make it known. Every morning I just say thank you, and go conquer the world. It’s my energy that keeps me going everyday.
