Today we’d like to introduce you to Ellie Rivera.
Hi Ellie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my journey June 8th of 2023. It’s a funny story actually. I was in the parks for my birthday when I spotted someone who had the cutest outfit at the parks. She asked if I could take a picture of her and we started to chat. I asked “ Are you a content creator?” She replied yes and we exchanged Instagram handles. At the time I just had my personal page where I occasionally would post photos of my trips to the parks. We kept in contact and one day she suggested I make a page to truly express my love for all things Disney and the parks. It took months of convincing but on June 8th, 2023 I made my first post and Elliechantment was created. Elliechantment was a way to blend my love for Disney Magic with my desire to create a space where I could truly be myself and celebrate not just the magic but also the beauty of individuality and self love. The rest has been a journey I never imagined would change my life in the best possible way.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I always like to say, every road has a pebble or a pothole. Nothing in life will ever come without challenges.
Content creating is something that in my opinion brings vulnerability. You are sharing your life with people who may or may not like what you post or agree with you.
I also do find I have to remind myself to take care of me. It’s very easy to get caught up on “what can I do next that was better than my previous post?” Or “I need to spend the weekend editing etc” It’s very easy to forget to take care of yourself and that leads to burn out very quickly. Those moments can be challenging as it sometimes feels like you are not doing enough. I find reminding myself I am human keeps my positive mindset that will smooth the road for a bit longer.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I have a social media page called Elliechantment. My page is all geared towards Disney and Lifestyle. I have created a space where Magic feels inclusive and personal.
I would say I’m known for my hair and style. It’s funny to say out loud but I am a curly girl at the parks. I struggled a good part of my life embracing my natural curls and having this platform where I have been encouraged to love it and I consider it part of my looks. In regards to style, I really try to keep my looks as comfortable as possible, but in a way that is still cute. Comfortable can be as simple as biker shorts, a cute top and accessories!
I am most proud of my growth as a person. I used to be extremely shy and having these platforms have given me the confidence boost I never imagined I could have. I’m a proud plus sized Afro Latina who loves what she does and hopes that it can inspire others to feel the same.
What sets me apart as a content creator is the way I bring magic and creativity in everyday life. Through my page, I feel I have created a space where people can feel the joy of the parks without ever leaving home. I can stay true to who I am and remind people that magic isn’t just in the parks but in your own routine and heart.
