Today we’d like to introduce you to Emma Jones.
Hi Emma, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I didn’t take a traditional path into real estate. Before becoming a Realtor, I worked in interior design, banking, and hospitality. Looking back, each of those experiences taught me something I use every day now. Interior design taught me how to see potential in a space, banking gave me a strong understanding of finances, and hospitality showed me how important relationships and service are.
I got into real estate because I was drawn to the idea of helping people through one of the biggest decisions of their lives. What started as an interest quickly became a passion. Like many agents, the early years were full of learning curves, long hours, and a lot of persistence. I spent countless hours building relationships, studying the market, and finding ways to stand out in a competitive industry.
Today, I’m a Realtor with Orange Slice Properties serving clients throughout Central Florida. Over the last few years, I’ve been fortunate to help buyers and sellers across the region while building a business rooted in trust, education, and strong negotiation. Along the way, I’ve been recognized as an ORRA 20 Under 40 honoree, an Orlando Real Producers 35 Under 35 recipient, and recently ranked among the top 8% of Central Florida agents.
One of the things I’m most proud of, though, isn’t an award or a sales number. It’s the fact that people now think of me when they hear the word “Realtor.” Real estate is a relationship business, and earning that level of trust from clients, friends, and my community means everything to me.
Outside of real estate, I’m passionate about bringing people together. I founded NextGen Orlando, a networking and community impact organization that connects professionals while supporting local nonprofits. Building both my real estate business and a community organization at the same time has taught me that success is about much more than transactions. It’s about creating meaningful connections and making a positive impact where you live.
I’m incredibly grateful for where I am today, but I still feel like I’m just getting started. The most exciting part is knowing there’s always more to learn, more people to help, and more opportunities to serve my community.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all. Like most entrepreneurial journeys, there have been plenty of challenges along the way.
Real estate is one of those careers where success can look glamorous from the outside, but behind every closing are years of uncertainty, hard work, and persistence. In the beginning, I was building a business from scratch. There was no guaranteed paycheck, no established client base, and no roadmap beyond showing up every day and continuing to move forward. Learning how to navigate the ups and downs of a commission-based business at a young age taught me resilience very quickly.
One of the biggest challenges has been learning how to balance ambition with sustainability. I’m someone who sets high goals for myself, and there have been seasons where I had to learn that growth isn’t just about working harder. It’s also about creating systems, setting boundaries, and protecting your energy so you can continue showing up at a high level for your clients and your community.
More recently, I’ve also faced some personal health challenges that forced me to slow down and reevaluate how I approach work and life. As difficult as that season has been, it reminded me that success means very little if you’re not taking care of yourself along the way. It strengthened my perspective, taught me to ask for help when needed, and reinforced the importance of building a business that supports the life you want to live, not the other way around.
Looking back, I’m grateful the road wasn’t perfectly smooth. The challenges shaped me into a better business owner, a stronger advocate for my clients, and a more empathetic person. Every obstacle taught me something that I still carry with me today.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a Realtor with Orange Slice Properties serving buyers and sellers throughout Central Florida. While every transaction is different, I specialize in helping clients make smart, strategic decisions that maximize their goals, whether that’s negotiating the best possible terms, preparing a home for market, or helping buyers identify opportunities that others might overlook.
One area I’m especially proud of is my work with sellers. My listings average just 21 days on market compared to the Orlando average of 68 days. In a market where pricing, marketing, and presentation matter more than ever, that’s a statistic I’m incredibly proud of because it reflects the strategy and preparation that happens long before a home goes live.
I believe what I’m known for is being both analytical and approachable. Real estate is emotional, but it’s also one of the largest financial decisions most people will ever make. My clients know they’ll get honest advice, clear communication, and someone who will advocate for their best interests every step of the way.
Outside of real estate, I also founded NextGen Orlando, a networking and community impact organization focused on connecting professionals and supporting local nonprofits. What started as a simple idea has grown into a community that regularly brings together 80 to 100 people at each event. One of the highlights this year was collaborating with the Orlando Magic, which was an exciting milestone and a reminder of how much can happen when people come together around a shared purpose. Seeing meaningful relationships, business opportunities, friendships, and community partnerships emerge from something we built from the ground up has been incredibly rewarding.
What sets me apart is that I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Every client, property, and situation is different. Rather than focusing on transactions, I focus on understanding what success looks like for each individual and building a strategy around that. At the end of the day, my goal is simple: to help people make confident decisions and achieve results they’re excited about.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I’ve come to believe that the best risks aren’t reckless, they’re calculated.
People often think of risk as taking a leap without knowing what will happen, but I’ve found that most meaningful growth comes from making informed decisions despite uncertainty. If you’re waiting until you have a 100% guarantee that something will work out, you’ll probably be waiting forever.
One of the biggest risks I’ve taken in my career was changing brokerages. At the time, I was comfortable where I was and genuinely grateful for the opportunities I’d been given. But as my business grew, I recognized that if I wanted to reach the next level, I needed a different environment, different resources, and a different vision for where I wanted my career to go.
That decision wasn’t easy. Loyalty is something I value deeply, and walking away from something familiar can feel uncomfortable. But I learned an important lesson: gratitude and growth can coexist. You can appreciate where you’ve been while still recognizing it’s time for a new chapter.
Looking back, that decision accelerated my business, expanded my opportunities, and helped me become a stronger professional. It reinforced my belief that sometimes the biggest risk is staying exactly where you are because it’s comfortable.
I think entrepreneurship naturally changes your relationship with risk. Every day, you’re investing time, energy, and resources into something that doesn’t come with guarantees. The key is learning to trust yourself, do your homework, and make decisions based on where you want to go, not where you happen to be today.
Some of the best things in my life and career have come from taking chances that felt scary at the time. Whether it was building a real estate business, launching NextGen Orlando, or making difficult career decisions, I’ve learned that growth usually lives just outside your comfort zone.
