Francesca as a little girl dreamed of having a “total Make over shop” A place where people would come in and be made over from head to toe. Now that she is a licensed cosmetologist and a fashion designer she can in a sense make people over. Her love for the holidays, fashion design and modeling all birthed deck the runway a holiday fashion event for emerging designers. Although she would get in trouble for cutting down her mother’s curtains as a child and making dresses out of them, she has only been designing consistently for about seven years. She has had the opportunity since starting her brand “Fancy By Francesca Watson” to work with numerous celebrity fashion stylists and Celebrities alike. Francesca’s designs have been published more than 25 times on Magazines such as ESSENCE, SHEEN, L’official, CAKE, Marie Westwood, TEEN Vanity and many more. She has dressed celebrities such as top Playboy model Olga Loera, Actress Golden Brooks, Jilissa Lynn, Arrion Pedrique, Tiffany Pollard, India Gants, Jhonni Blaze, Judith Jackson, Nannette Hammond, Erin Green, Raelia Lewis and the list goes on.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Many struggles happen when you are an entrepreneur. Struggles sometimes occur when someone doubts your ability to succeed or insults your work. When some stylists or PR companies do not not return your garments or they return them damaged beyond repair. There are good days and bad days when being an entrepreneur. It’s not about how many times you struggle but about how many times you can get through the struggling. You have to be thankful for the great people and supporters that you meet throughout following your dreams and try to have “thick skin”. I’m super thankful for all of my supporters, for my husband and entire family that supports my dreams. Also supper grateful for industry friends that I made along the way such as these two Queens Tiffany Pollard and Olga Loera who I would consider friends that been my endeavors for a very long time. Success does not come in a fast flight. You have to take the stairs.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in being a fashion designer and producing an exceptional fashion events. What sets me apart is that I am different, I am innovative, I don’t follow trends I set them. I think outside the box.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Favorite books are The Afterburn by Zane and Breathe by Jessica Pheonix. Jessica Phoenix is a really great new rising author and has released quite a few great books. You should really check out her work if you are looking for a great read. You can find her books on Amazon. My Favorite podcast is The Breakfast Club with Charlamagne ThaGod.
