Daily Inspiration: Meet Ida Moore

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ida Moore.

Hi Ida, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Himalayan Scents Candle Co. was created October 1, 2022. I have always had a love for candles and nice fragrances for the office or living space. I would always shop for candles in some of my favorite stores such as home goods, Bath & Body Works, Yankee Candle. Then one day I had the desire to find a niche, something I’d love and would be great at. I realized it was candle-making! My company went live on October 1, 2022; however, I had been making candles since July of 2022. Learning about the industry & growth factors. Testing and Sampling different products until I was able to find the right fragrances and packaging. The journey of candle making and being an entrepreneur is a fulfilling experience. I am my own boss; I get to create something that others would love. Most of all I love what I do.

What makes my candles so authentic is that we use all-natural products. 100% Soy wax, all-natural fragrances, and essential oils & our main ingredient is Himalayan Salt! Which is known as “The Healing Salt!” Himalayan salt added to our candles gives the customers the best of both worlds.

While enjoying their favorite scent filling the space, they also get an added benefit of a natural body detox. Himalayan salt is known for detoxifying the body from impurities, lowering blood pressure, calming the mind, body & spirit. These are just a few examples; Himalayan Salt does much more.

Himalayan scents is now officially three months old. It is thriving and becoming known. We will continue to grow & produce luxurious products for our customers. Our story is just getting started!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Of course, being an entrepreneur is never an easy or smooth road. However, it is well deserving and can be very lucrative depending on the industry and how far you’d like to go. I will say although there have been challenges with months of product testing & sometimes launches not as successful as you’d like. It is all worth it at the end. When you can read great reviews from satisfied customers about your product. I wouldn’t change any of it.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a serial entrepreneur! I own and operate many businesses, the candle-making business is my latest niche. I’m a food vendor, wedding/event planner & also a candle maker. So, the hat I wear is an entrepreneur hat. Leaving corporate America and becoming a business owner has been a learning experience thus far and I’m excited to know what will be next for all of my businesses.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is family day. Every Sunday my mother would cook a big breakfast for my two older sisters and my dad. Then we’d go to church and after church, we would always go out to eat dinner. It would always be somewhere new. That was always enjoyable! After dinner, we’d come home relax a bit and my sisters and I would go outside to play. Then to close out the evening, we would all be huddled up in the living room watching our favorite sitcoms, such as “The Family Matters,” Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” or Mommas House.
