Daily Inspiration: Meet Jacque Brund

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacque Brund

Hi Jacque, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I began photography in 1990 in film and 2001 digital. With film in city magazines, events, portraits, overseas work, war coverage in Eastern Europe, and brief trips to Central American countries and the Caribbean, contracting with agencies in a freelance position I learned to work with all the difficulties that the craft of photography presents. The need was to look into the art of creating a photo for publication and not the same old image but something new, to seek beyond the old usual imagery.

In 2001 with digital photography I began to work with style, art, fashion and models which were created as ads to draw attention to my online business. I always liked the ads in fashion magazines with added words on the cover and I felt this connected me to photojournalism in which pictures had a specific need or purpose. When I saw models posed in photos that are all over the internet, I thought, why are they doing that, for what? Of course for marketing themselves as models to businesses, etc.

I commercially challenging photos for an optics and laser center requiring multiple lighting set-ups and in low light, as seen on the commercial link of my website, and macro photography for a technology company based in China and the US. and other kinds commercial photography.

Today I receive more calls and requests for creative work based on the imagery on the front page of my website. These photos are created with imagination using models I photographed and then by adding stock from Getty Images and others, They receive a lot of attention and create bookings. A recent example is a project ahead for fashion chain belts for a new company to be done in December 2024. Thank you. Jacque
