Today we’d like to introduce you to Jada Bowman.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started modeling back in February of 2022, so I have been in the modeling industry for a year now.
Back in my teenage years, I was always told that I should be a model because I have the look, the face, and the body for it. I never really listened to anyone, all I said was thank you because I took it as a compliment but never thought deeply about it like I wanted to pursue it as something bigger.
I wanted to decide for myself if I wanted to model or not. I wanted to do it for me and not for anyone else because then I would be doing it for the wrong reason. When people always told me that I should be a model, no fire or passion lit up inside of me, it was just opinions. I used to watch America’s Next Top Model all the time because I was inspired and loved Tyra Banks but when I saw what those models went through, I was like no this is not for me I wouldn’t be able to handle the tough criticism and change who I am for people. I don’t have the thick skin or confidence to deal with this cutthroat industry.
Through all of that, there were lessons to be learned in that experience. I took those lessons and saw my cousin Zelda modeling and she was doing it so effortlessly and gracefully. I didn’t know that she was into modeling nor realize it is her passion. She is a very reserved person, but I could see her blossoming into a beautiful flower coming out of her comfort zone and being able to showcase her talents to the world and being recognized by it.
I thought to myself, ok if this is what it looks like then I can do this. I was super inspired by my own family.
I reached out to her and asked her if she can help me get started and of course, she was ready to welcome me with open arms. I went to one of her photoshoots to get a glimpse of how things work, see how poses work, how to be professional when working with a photographer, how quickly you have to change out of outfits, etc… I made my first connection and he took some photos of me and from that experience, it took off.
There were so many opportunities coming my way I could not even keep up. From that point, I knew then this was my calling and God helped me along the way with the divine connections and opportunities to lead the way for me.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. I think when you are following your dreams and pursuing your passion, obstacles are always there that try to stop and block you from moving forward.
Having a healthy mindset was one of the biggest struggles I had along the way and I didn’t realize how important it was because it affected different areas of my life. I was weak in the mind which executed on the outside because I would feel and look defeated from choosing to not have a healthy mindset. It hindered my growth from being the great person I already am.
Mindset is everything because it also affects your confidence and your ability to execute the power you know you have inside of you and without confidence, you delay your greatness. Mindset and confidence are ongoing journeys that I continuously work on to be better.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Honestly, I am known for being a fashion model. I would love to be a motivational speaker and speak life into others at a very young age to empower others to pursue their dreams and passion.
Modeling is one of the platforms that I use to portray that. I am still learning and growing throughout my journey but I want to be the encourager and let others know that it is not always easy, things get hard but it’s the obstacles that help us grow.
It’s all about how we get back up from those challenges to make us stronger. I am proud of myself for being an example that you can push past anything with the right mindset. I am proud of myself for not giving up and continuing to let God direct my path and never looking astray.

As of right now, I don’t think anything is surprising at this very moment but what I can say is that I cannot wait for what God has in store for me and I pray that he brings more clarity and revelation to my purpose to unlock the unknown gifts inside of me.
