Today we’d like to introduce you to Jensen Venger.
Jensen, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always been a fan. As a kid, I grew up in the Orlando theme parks and loved the franchises that were represented. I continued to watch movies, T.V. shows, read books and comics. In 2018 I got my first Spider-Man cosplay, and ever since I have been cosplaying and creating content in the theme parks ever since!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The biggest struggle has been the effects of COVID-19, putting a pause on being able to create in the parks along with even shipping times for cosplays made it difficult to continue to create. It was a mixed bag however, with the difficulties also came almost unlimited time for a while to make content and truly indulge in media that I love.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in creating pop culture content on TikTok and Instagram. This mainly includes Cosplay (costume-play) and the Orlando theme parks, Walt Disney World and Universal Studios Orlando. I get to talk about things that I love and am passionate about and share it with the internet! I am mainly known for Comic Book content, specifically Spider-Man. Along with that, I also create a lot in Universal Orlando and the Disney parks with my boyfriend!
Something I am most proud of is the passionate I put into the characters and brands I aim to represent. My boyfriend Jared has always said regarding cosplay, “when you put on the suit, you represent what that character means to yourself and others”. It has always been so important to me to represent characters name a way that would make their creators, and even them (if they were real) proud. And at the end of the day, I think that devotion to the content and purpose of the material is what continues to set me apart from others.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
The biggest lesson I learned is to do things that make you happy. It sounds cheesy, but truly we don’t have all the time in the world as it may have felt in quarantine, the fact of the matter is we never know what is going to happen next.
