Today we’d like to introduce you to Joel Dawson.
Hi Joel, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I meet my business partner in college and our paths were in different directions, my path lead me to the Marines, his path was business. After 15 years in the marines I retired and we joined forces again and started a food truck incorporating our families recipes and my experience in food service and his business sense.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not a smooth road, had to think quick on our feet. Challenges everyday. One day we a grease fire and had to think quick and put the fire out and save our faces.
Driving to an event and the trailer unhitched and was riding next to us. We had to ram the trailer so it wouldn’t hit on coming drivers and eventually we were able to stop it and get it off the road and to a mechanic.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We have the best bbq on this side of heaven, our slow smoked meats and savory sides blend to bless your tastebuds with the best. We are not just regular bbq food truck we are a bbq brand. We are set apart because we bring a unique vibe to all of our events. Family, fun and fellowship are our core values as a brand. We provide good vibes and moral boosting with every bite.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Dedication, drive , a no quit attitude. Failure is not an option mentality.
