Daily Inspiration: Meet Johanna Ceballos

Today we’d like to introduce you to Johanna Ceballos.

Hi Johanna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi, my name is Johanna Ceballos, and I’m a Florida-local wardrobe stylist currently working as a freelance wardrobe stylist in the TV industry.

It sounds cliché, but I’ve wanted to be in fashion since I was a little girl. I remember sitting at the dining room table “sketching” dresses on notebook paper thinking that one day this would be my job. The real work started prior to graduating college, where I received a Bachelor’s in Fashion Design and Merchandising. I originally wanted to pursue PR in fashion until I came across the production industry and fell in love. My brother played a huge role in introducing me to the exhilarating, exhausting yet rewarding world that is production, and ever since, I’ve been hooked. I owe that spark to him. I’m extremely passionate about what I do and honestly wouldn’t even call it a job.

Quickly after graduating and being in the industry for some time, I got hired as a Freelance Wardrobe Stylist by one of Disney’s most prominent vendors, Loftis Productions Services. The owner, Lori Loftis has and continues to play a big part in my career along a great team of individuals who I respect and admire. Throughout the years as a freelancer, I’ve had the opportunity to work with brands such as Disney, ESPN, ABC, NBC, FOX, and International TV broadcasters. I’ve been fortunate enough to also work with celebrities like Sofia Carson, Becky G, Sarah Hyland, Julianne Hough, Titus Burgess, Zack Braff, Nick Lachey, Trevor Jackson, and many more. Each experience is more fruitful than the last and all of which I’m extremely grateful for.

I’ve worked tirelessly to get to where I am today. I’ve always been and continue to be a go-getter, forever improving. I’ve stayed focused, humble and have overcome a lot of obstacles along the way. I believe in consistency and hard work. A value my parents have instilled in me since the beginning.

Humbled, grateful, and filled with more motivation than I know what to do with, I can’t wait to see what’s next!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road. Like everything in life, one must face challenges along the way. I believe one of my biggest struggles during this journey has been my age. Being young in a wardrobe stylist role demands a lot more of you. The work ethic has to be impeccable for you to succeed and gain the respect if you want people to take you seriously. Feels like there’s no room for error. There’s sacrifices you have to make to continue to grow; nothing comes easy. However, all has been worth it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As a wardrobe stylist, I help guide a vision through wardrobe. We often work alongside creatives to stay on track with the process. From the shoes to the earrings, telling the story how it’s supposed to be told is our main objective. Understanding and listening, I mean really listening is extremely important.

Visually, my job is to find the perfect way to tell the story, all through what individuals wear. Long days of prep, shopping, meetings, look books, and fittings are required. From a simple dress to a bracelet to the perfect pair of shoes. It’s about keeping the feeling and emotion alive! It all matters. I would say that’s my specialty. Keeping those details alive in every story.

Most proud of:

My consistency, I’ve had a vision, and even if things got tough. I managed to keep going. I’ve kept it moving through every situation happening in my life. Positive or negative, quitting has never been an option.

Growing internally has been a must for my journey; healing trauma and understanding how adapt to changes, different situations, and personalities has been a personal goal of mine. I would say that is something I’m proud of.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
Meditation, working out, family, close friends and being by the beach has always been an aid to me.

I truly believe that finding a hobby or something that puts your mind at peace is extremely important. Ive found that pocket of peace in meditation.
I alway encourage people that surround me to find what helps them release. We all have so much in our minds constantly that it’s hard to turn it off at times.
Being able to recognize when you need to disconnect and reset is key to a healthy lifestyle and that is something I’ve learned throughout my career. I take that very seriously now and strongly believe that we must work hard, but also step away and take that rest when needed.
