Daily Inspiration: Meet Jose Gonzalez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jose Gonzalez.

Jose, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My dreams began in front of the camera, I wanted to become an actor, so being involved in music was such a beautiful surprise. In my next video, I actually get to tackle doing both, as well as directing, because that was my second love growing up..I used to rehearse my Oscar speech, hopefully, it’s not too late.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Life itself is set with seasons so you have to come to expect bumps, I went through my own wars and obstacles, all I can say is God guided me to this point and so I have to be appreciative. I experienced some setbacks that had I decided to quit I truly believe I wouldn’t be able to live with such decisions.. from losing a child to starting my own business MVPCLUBBARBERSUPPLY, it’s been magical having a second chance and being able to create a culture of success through self action, and community.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I began as a producer, I started being selfish with beats and so I decided that I would rap over what I felt were the top beats I made. I started to get the positive feedback and slowly I fell in love with the rush of creating visions with words and growing up in such a cultural world it was poetic that I would write my way into love.

Whenever you have people singing along to your work, especially in large crowds, that’s something to be proud of., a special type of drug.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Hope we get back to emotionally connecting instantly to the words we hear.. I want to see the independent artist be just as beloved as the top bill artist. And got to open up these airwaves.
