Today we’d like to introduce you to Julian Alicea.
Hi Julian, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Julian Alicea. I relocated from New York City to the Orlando area in 2007 and have called Central Florida my home ever since. I have an educational background in business management, marketing, and administration. In the past, I have been the owner of a small business startup consulting company and an advisor in the renewable energy industry. I knew that my previous experience with consulting and advising people on decisions gave me the skills needed for being a successful real estate professional. Throughout my life, I have always had a passion for selling. The moments that satisfied me the most were negotiating deals with win-win outcomes. The time came when I wanted to utilize all my previous experiences and be a part of something greater that also had a positive impact on people’s lives. I understood that one of the most crucial undertakings in someone’s life is when they purchase and sell real estate, and I wanted to be a part of that. I knew that real estate would not only satisfy my need to sell but would also fulfill my urge to help people. My desire for purpose in my work and life pushed me to pursue my real estate career towards the end of 2019. That is when I decided to move forward with my dream of becoming a real estate agent in Florida. When I received my license on Valentine’s day of 2020, I knew that real estate was the love of my life. I started my real estate career with an open mind and an eagerness to learn. I would not be where I am today if not for the extreme gratitude I feel when a client tells me how much help I was to them in their real estate transaction.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
All journeys in life come with obstacles and challenges that we must overcome. I received my real estate license at the beginning of 2020. Within a month of becoming a real estate agent, the world was at a standstill with the coronavirus pandemic. The uncertainty of the future real estate market and the world’s outcome caused me to question if my decision to pursue real estate was the right choice. I chose to continue my real estate career and not let any fear or doubt take control of me. As with anything new, there is always a learning curve in the beginning. For me, real estate was no different. Learning how to write and review contracts correctly came with its own set of challenges. Also, rejection in the real estate industry is inevitable. In the beginning, it was a struggle to overcome rejection, not give up, and understand that it is part of the process. The road to where I am in my real estate career has not been the smoothest. It made me the professional I am today and I would not change that for anything.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a licensed real estate professional who provides my clients with helpful guidance throughout the buying, selling, or renting of properties. I specialize in finding residential or commercial properties that reflect all, if not most of my client’s needs. I analyze the real estate market to help clients facilitate the sale of their properties as efficiently as possible. My job is to make the real estate transaction flow smoothly, including resolving any issues which may arise. I am known for my strong negotiation skills and quick response time throughout the transaction. I take pride in my attention to detail when writing or reviewing contracts. What sets me apart from other agents is my passion for the real estate industry and my enthusiasm when working with customers to help them achieve their real estate goals. The reasons why I can easily be set apart from other real estate agents include the time that I take to review listing information for accuracy, creativity with my marketing, and generosity when sharing information about real estate. I am most proud of how far I have come in my real estate business and knowing that my work in real estate makes a difference in people’s lives.
What makes you happy?
Happiness impacts all aspects of my life. I will focus on what makes me happy with my career in real estate. The ability to be in control of my work, set my schedule, as well as the potential to learn from others and prove myself in the industry, brings me joy. My happiness comes from being able to help people sell or buy homes in pivotal stages of their lives. All while knowing that helping people through the process of starting a new life brings them happiness. The flexibility of having a good work/life balance makes me content. These reasons contribute to my overall satisfaction with my real estate business and prove that this is my life’s calling.
