Today we’d like to introduce you to Julie Meneses.
Hi Julie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I arrived in the United States 5 years ago, from Venezuela, in my country I obtained my degree as a Bachelor in Social Communication, mention: Journalism, I worked in various media and as a Communication Manager for a group of franchise restaurants, there we had brands such as Burger King, Pollo Tropical, Segafredo, Pinkberry and national brands. Emigrating from my country was one of the greatest challenges that life gave me after having been the mother of 3 wonderful children. I had to put my life in 2 suitcases and leave my native country. In the United States, I have to face new challenges, the first one and which I am still trying to master, learn a new language, I have had to start from scratch and perform trades and tasks to which I was not used to, I worked as a housekeeper, drive trucks selling food, clean house, work as a driver among many other things I have always liked to help people, motivate them, give them encouragement, show that as long as there is water in the glass, there is hope, it does not matter if it is half full or half empty, there is and if there is water there is hope, that is why I decided to ask myself realtor, to be able to help people, guide them, orient them in a need to find the house of their dreams.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Without a doubt, it has not been a smooth path, but with faith, hope and determination, it is possible to walk. The first thing I had to overcome was the fact of going from having service personnel all my life in my country to now being service personnel without even mastering the language. When I thought that everything was stabilizing, problems arose in my marriage and I ended up separating, a very strong stage because, although you try to see it with different eyes, it is a failure, and my children were still young. Not long after that decision had passed when, after a series of medical examinations, they discovered that I have a cyst in an ovary, with a strong history of a mother who survived ovarian cancer, as they decided to do more tests and discover that I am BRACA + that is, I had several mutated genes for various types of cancer which means that I had a 90% chance of having them at that time or developing them at any stage of my life, which makes me decide to have radical surgeries that would change my life a lot, in that way and after multiple complications I had to be operated on 5 times in 2019, 4 more times in 2020 and this year 1 time. But the strongest fight has sometimes been with myself, when sometimes you want to give up, but you see 3 beings of light by your side, my children, and they told me, NO, it’s now and get up and do it
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I love helping people, inspire, motivate, collaborate and at the beginning of the year I joined a group where they allow me not only to market real estate, which is a job that I love, but it also allows me to help other realtors in their work. The Real Estate industry by its nature is a very lonely profession where each agent works in a particular way and does not allow to share the secret of the golden eggs, but fortunately I found a place where I can grow, develop and, most importantly, I can help others grow, I currently have a growing team leveraged on the development and experience of more than 600 Agents in which there are Top Producers who put their knowledge and experiences within the reach of realtors of all levels, no matter if you are new or If you have 20 years in the business, here when it comes to supporting each other we are all the same, and that is what really is, not only what differentiates me, but my entire team.
I am proud to have had more than 40 transactions closed in less than 6 months, to have been able to represent Buyers, Sellers, Tenants and property owners in different transitions regardless of being a New Realtor, Hispanic-speaking Latino in the United States and currently growing and forming work teams, without the need to be a broker and without the barrier that it is only in Florida or the USA but in any state in the country and in different countries around the world.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Well, as I mentioned, I am currently forming a team, supporting people and multiplying the way in which I have achieved the goals, for me it is an honor and a commitment, every time a realtor calls me and says Julie, I want to be part of your team. Money is paper, but the energy behind it is super powerful, it’s not about how much you do, it’s about what you do to get it to come to you, who you lean on and that’s more important.
