Daily Inspiration: Meet Kaitlyn Zavala

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaitlyn Zavala.

Kaitlyn Zavala

Hi Kaitlyn, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Kaitlyn Zavala, I’m a 28 yr old female who moved to the Orlando area to attend college at the University of Central Florida. I’m a double UCF alumni #gkco. Currently, I’m a full time Speech-Language Pathologist working with the geriatrics population. The medical field is extremely rewarding; however, there’s not a lot of room for creativity. That’s where I’ve started content creating on the side. I had a friend who was a full time content creator who gave me all of the tricks of the trade and guided me along the way! I stuck to her pointers and just did what I normally did… Went out to eat with my fiancee (boyfriend at the time) and started filming!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I’d say there were some bumpy obstacles, but nothing that deferred me from continuing my content creation journey. Juggling a full-time career, consistently posting (with my face really being out there), and turning a relaxing night out into “getting the perfect shot” had it’s little ups and downs. But I’d say it was more of an adjustment than a hurtle I had to overcome.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What I’ve recently noticed is that many content creators have degrees in hospitality. During high school and throughout college, I worked in restaurants from hostess, take-out, server to floor manager, then went straight into the medial field after graduating from my master’s program. I never thought I’d wind up back in the hospitality industry, but I’ve always had a passion for helping others. That’s where I loved my job as a speech-language pathologist, helping those who recently had strokes, dementia, or dramatic brain injuries, but also doing content creation where I get to help small business and business owners reach a wider audience. Not just communicating, but providing a service such as therapy or even a great recommendation for a night out on the town, brings me so much joy.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Honestly, I’m an open book if you ask me, so many people are not surprised by me. If anything, they’re probably most surprised by my full-time career and part time gig. I’m extremely proud of my growth in my online presence and sometimes shocked by how many people comment/like/share the videos. I work very hard to keep up with all the things life throws are way and am so grateful that the hard work provides others with entertainment and of course, great places to eat.
