Daily Inspiration: Meet Katiuska Mcsorley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katiuska Mcsorley.

Hi Katiuska, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Since I was little, I had always been curious about crafts and learning different arts and techniques, a curiosity that became a hobby decorating the birthdays of cousins, nephews and friends… After finishing university with a specialty in business management, I thought the best thing was develop my own business doing what I like…. and it was there when I decided to open my first physical store in decoration for children’s events. I was open for more than ten years learning more and more the art of decoration for children’s events.

In my country, Venezuela, things were not going well due to the political situation forcing me to close my business for my own safety and that of my family. And in the blink of an eye, I find myself here in the US, and that’s when I decide to follow what I like to do so much, focusing basically on the pinatas.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has definitely not been easy. The US is a totally different country from Venezuela. Starting with the language, learn the vocabulary of the events and materials. Also that we have different cultures when it comes to the use of piñatas. But when you fight for what you like to do, you find the right way to get ahead. Trial and error is my motto. We learn from mistakes. Listen to those voices that are within you and around you so that you evaluate the different scenarios…. Currently, I have greater knowledge and confidence to develop my business in this beautiful country that has given me the opportunity to be born again and do what I like.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

For example, CUSTOMER SERVICE when we listen my customers, we try to understand what they want to the maximum and based on the statistics we develop our products and our strategies, making a difference in terms of quality, response and style. Fight and keep going for your goals. Sometimes you feel like you are falling, but I have learned to brake, look around me and refocus despite the noises I may have around me. Learning in this process has been the best. because I trust what I do and the most important thing I like. Consistency brings you security and achievements.
