Today we’d like to introduce you to KellieLynn Dreher.
Hi KellieLynn, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am a freelance make up, hair and wardrobe stylist working for both video and still photography specializing in lifestyle commercials and advertising. Another main focus is Convention work for Keynote speakers and video. I also do special events like weddings or private sessions. My career started as a make up artist traveling the United States and abroad doing resort shoots with a well-known photographer and small crew. This led me to gain “on the job“ experience doing Wardrobe and Prop styling because I was asked to help out beyond make up and hair services. Because of that experience, I have multiple clients that rely on me to head up the vanities department and I put together crews for their shoots since I’m knowledgeable in make up, hair and wardrobe styling. As well as some prop styling. My goal is to always make my clients happy.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t always been smooth. I found when I started this career, no one wanted to help me. So I had to learn everything on my own, which made me be a better overall stylist. I’m sometimes referred to as “MacGyver“. Also being a freelance stylist, I not only needed to know my own craft, but I also needed to be my own business manager and market myself to get work.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am most proud of my relationship with my clients. They trust and depend on me from the smallest shoots to major productions. They know I will give it my all.
I believe my attention to detail sets me apart from others. My clients appreciate that they have less to do in post-production because I keep an eye on the job while working.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Attention to detail, dependability, punctuality, loyalty and being a team player is important to my success.
