Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin Haynes
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I grew up dancing with my brother. At age 16 I gave my life to Jesus and committed to dancing for God’s glory alone. From then I wanted nothing more than to pursue God with this gift of dance. So, I started a dance ministry my junior year of high school and got my first gig my senior year with a christian rapper named Buckey! From there the rest was history! Throughout college I got more connected with people in the entertainment industry and started building a team. I am so grateful for the connections I’ve made to further the ministry God has called me to!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My entrepreneurial journey has had its ups and downs. Gig-work can be pretty feast or famine. I am grateful to be enjoying more and more steady work, but the journey here is colored with both wins and discouragements along the way.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a professional hip hop dancer. What sets me apart is my dedication to Jesus! When I dance its not just a performance, it’s worship! I don’t dance to please the eyes of people but to change their hearts! I practice daily in dance! Always striving to be the best version of myself. I am always learning and I’m extremely dedicated to physical health. I go to the gym 6 days a week on top of dancing, and focus on calisthenic skills, weightlifting, and strengthening my joints so I can dance for years to come. The better I feel, the better I can dance!
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something surprising would be that I love anime! Anime encourages me and pushes me to grow.
