Daily Inspiration: Meet Kim Lowery

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kim Lowery.

Kim Lowery

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
For the last 7 years I have been a salon owner. I still am an owner. I have a full service salon in Longwood. Real estate has always been an interest of mine I just was always scared to get into it. I was always fearful of not being able to “sound” like a realtor. February of this year I decided to move forward with my real estate classes while still working full time, being a full time mom, and a full time wife. I finished the class late March. In May I finally sucked it up and went to take the state exam and passed on my first try. I joined Keller Williams Winter Park the very next week. Got my first official sale in August thanks to my client from my salon. I currently work part time as a nail technician still at my salon and a full time realtor.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This is probably one of the most challenging experiences I have ever had. The industry is completely different than any other industry I have had experience in. While I know what it is like to look for my own clientele the turn over on the reward is so much longer in real estate. The process of finding a client, learning a client, staying with your client through the many changes they go through, deciding on a home and then inspections and closings is a lot for someone. I have learned to repeat to myself to trust the process.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a REALTOR in the central Florida area. I specialize in residential, new construction, and investment properties. I also am a licensed nail technician and full service salon owner. I am most proud that even when I am uncomfortable making a decision I push through weather it’s a career move or a new nail design I face it head on. I’m glad that I’m able to show my 4 girls that they can concur anything. What sets me apart is I do nothing for the money I do it because I want my interactions to leave an impact on peoples lives.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Everything is figure-outable! There is nothing that does not have a solution to it. You just have to be open and willing to try things a different way.
