Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristen Terrell.
Hi Kristen, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
In the beginning, I was a model. I went to a modeling school in Orlando for a while, found agencies to work with. After a few years, I found that I enjoyed the influencer side of it more… being able to create my own ideas and have more fun with it, share the things I love.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s hard to see others grow faster, find paid opportunities faster, etc but when you enjoy something and stick to it you will get there too! Stay true to your beliefs and what you enjoy and the rest will follow.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
In “real life,” I am a surgical assistant for an oral + facial surgeon. I love my job and being able to help others. We do a lot of charity work and it’s amazing to help people. On Instagram, I feel I’m known for my unique photo ideas. I don’t really follow a certain style, I just find things that fit when I find an idea or location I like.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Finding a brand manager. I recently did this and it’s a huge help! They know the business side and just an outside point of view you may not see that can help you grow. Non-bias opinion about your page that you may not notice.
