Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyle Perlach-konoski.
Hi Kyle, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started Weekend Warrior Epoxy during the Pandemic… I’ve always dreamt of not only being a business owner but of owning a business where I thoroughly enjoyed and could be proud of what I did. I love creating and working with my hands, so when I came upon epoxy it was the perfect fit. Today I have added painting to my business, as well. I have been so blessed to be able to start and manage my business, especially in such uncertain times. I truly thank God for allowing me to continue doing what I love and being able to restore and create beautiful pieces at my customers’ homes and businesses.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As you can imagine, starting a business during the Pandemic has not always been easy. Business has its ups and downs. I have definitely had my share of downs, especially in the early months; I have however, learned through each one of those failures and continue to grow as a person and a business owner. Some of my struggles, in the beginning, had a lot to do with my work/life balance. I was working so hard to start my business and get it off the ground that I found myself overbooking and becoming exhausted, especially when I would get home and want so badly to pour into my family. I have now found a great work/life balance.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in Epoxy countertops and furniture restoration. I transform a basic countertop or piece of furniture that the client isn’t pleased with and turn it into a masterpiece based on my client’s request. I add all sorts of colors and different designs based exactly on my client’s vision. I’m most proud of the end result. I enjoy showing the client their new piece of furniture right after the epoxy is cured. I always get a “WOW” or “That’s Amazing” from the client. I believe what sets me apart from other people is my Artistic mind and how I can see it in my mind’s eye before the finished product.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I think something surprising to most people is the extremely difficult life I had growing up. I was brought up in low-income housing and surrounded by drugs and alcohol. At a very early age, I began using drugs and alcohol and quickly became addicted.
I spent years digging myself into a hole of darkness and pain.
But by the grace of God, I found my way out.
Today I have multiple years of sobriety, a beautiful family, and as you all know now, my very own business.
My life is beyond amazing, and I am forever grateful.
