Daily Inspiration: Meet Lauren Dragosetti

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Dragosetti

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I began my career in magazines and eventually reached my peak as the Art Director of Cosmopolitan Australia. As the industry began to shift, I knew I needed to explore opportunities beyond publishing in case I ever found myself without a job. That’s when I started a small side hustle called Just Sayin’ Girl—not only as a backup plan but also as a creative outlet to unwind from the pressures of tight deadlines. It began as an Instagram account featuring handwritten quotes and illustrations, but it quickly gained traction and a loyal following.

As my audience grew, I made the bold decision to leave my full-time job and turn Just Sayin’ Girl into a business, selling prints, birthday and wedding invitations, and custom-labeled candles. While it was a fun and creative venture, I soon realized it was too niche and lacked the potential for long-term commercial growth.

At the same time, clients started approaching me for additional design work—branding, websites, and packaging—which aligned more closely with my skill set. This led me to evolve Just Sayin’ Girl into Just Sayin’ Girl Creative, shifting the focus toward branding, digital media, and packaging design.

A couple of years in, as the business gained momentum and attracted larger clients, the workload became too much for one person. To keep up with demand, I expanded my team, hiring part-time designers, and rebranded once more—this time as JSG Agency—to better reflect our growing clientele and range of services.

Fast forward eight years, and JSG Agency is now a full-service creative agency with a global client base and offices in key locations worldwide. We handle everything from marketing strategies and branding to digital media, activations, and website development. Looking back, it’s incredible to think that it all started with handwritten quotes on Instagram.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not—there’s been lots of tears! Running a business is like riding a rollercoaster, with exhilarating highs (wins) and challenging lows. In a service-based industry, it’s not just about delivering great work; it’s also about keeping clients happy. Happy clients come back and refer you to others, which is the best marketing any business can have. But the reality is, you can’t please everyone. Sometimes, you’re dealing with clients who threaten legal action or simply don’t pay because they lack the funds. It can be incredibly frustrating and deflating, but you have to pick yourself up and keep moving forward.

Then there’s the challenge of actually running a business. Accounting has never been my strong suit, and while I’m lucky to have someone handling that side of things, I knew it was essential to understand the basics myself. It took longer than I expected, but it was a necessary part of the journey.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At JSG Agency, we bring brands to life with bold, creative, and striking design. I started this agency as a place where imagination could run wild, and over the years, we’ve built a reputation for delivering quality design work—fast. Whether it’s branding, packaging, branding, websites, motion graphics, or styling, we make sure every project stands out. But we’re not just about design anymore. As we’ve grown, we’ve started making waves in the world of events and activations, creating unforgettable brand experiences that go beyond just visuals. From concept to execution, we’re all about turning ideas into moments that guests remember.

What sets JSG Agency apart? We’re not your typical creative studio. We’re hands-on, adaptable, and act as an extension of any team—whether that’s through branding, marketing, or full-scale creative direction. We don’t box ourselves into one industry or style, and that flexibility keeps our work fresh and exciting.

While I’m incredibly proud of the work we’ve done, what I’m most proud of are the relationships we’ve built along the way. We’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with some of the world’s biggest brands, and none of it would be possible without our hardworking, passionate, and insanely talented team. At the end of the day, JSG Agency isn’t just about creating—it’s about elevating, transforming, and pushing brands to their full potential.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I’d say the biggest thing that’s driven my success is a mix of honesty, hard work, and passion. Being real with people and keeping things transparent is key, and I don’t shy away from putting in the effort to get things done. I stay positive, even when things get tough, and I always make sure people can rely on me. Plus, being a good talker doesn’t hurt—I know how to connect with people and get things moving!
