Daily Inspiration: Meet Lei Lei

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lei Lei.

Lei Lei

Hi Lei, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Ashleigh, also known as Lei Lei. I have been an artist my entire life and choose to make it my career & lifestyle back in 2019. Since then I have accomplished many things from selling over 300 pieces of hand painted acrylic artwork to writing and publishing my first book on Amazon, “The Sauce”. I’ve also had the opportunity to showcase some of my favorite inspirational pieces in the City Arts Gallery. One of my all time favorite achievements was painting artwork & shipping it to New Orleans for my favorite rapper, Curren$y & then seeing it hung up on his instagram to officially meeting him live at his concert here in Orlando years later! I’ve painted live around the city as well, including at many of the dispensary grand openings in Orlando & murals around the city including at venues like SelfieWrld, The Nash, Yucca Grill and a new Orlando restaurant, Candee Lee’s Soul House. I have also thrown some of my own memorable events, painted live for the famous Grand Bohemian in Downtown Orlando & over the past 2 years I started my own successful face painting service for kids! I am a fashion model too and have been in the industry since I was 14 year old, but art truly became my passion once I started to see the many ways I could really express myself the way I wanted to through mediums like paint, it’s what I love to do but you may catch me on the runway again one day! Until then, find me on Instagram @ArtbyLeiLei where you can find all of my latest work, stay updated & get in touch with me!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has been smooth at times but for the most part everything about my journey has been a learning process, learning what I like and what I don’t, what works and what doesn’t & if it doesn’t how can I make it better.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I work with acrylics mostly but I am always open to trying whatever I think I can create at the moment especially if I’m feeling crafty, so if I feel inspired to do it I’ll make it right there on the spot.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
I have a lot of favorite childhood memories but I think one of them was when my cousins would visit during the summer & we would hang out in the pool, play video games all day & have barbecues, I definitely miss those days.
