Today we’d like to introduce you to Lexie King.
Hi Lexie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I grew up in not the best circumstances, but I always dreamed about the perfect life, now I realize things can’t be perfect but you can find joy in the little things! That’s why I want to share my adventures on socials, so I can look back and see the happiness I found and hopefully spark some in my friends and followers!
It was always my dream to be involved with Disney in some way when I grew up, eventually I became a cast member and fell in love with the Disney community! I started by posting my Disney days and outfits and slowly dropped off as I continued college classes. It wasn’t until recently that my friend and I realized we could do this if we’re consistent because we definitely had the nac for it! My love for posting cute stories and making videos to look back on has only grown and my editing skills have enhanced as well! It’s exciting to see growth in myself and my skills through social media!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Smooth is not a word I would use to describe my journey with social media! Haha! I definitely encountered some struggles, mostly internal with comparison and motivation to post and making content that “looks” the part. I’m still struggling with the idea of being interesting enough for follows or audience growth… that being said I also have noticed my confidence growing and not caring as much about everyone’s opinions. Not everyone is gonna vibe with your content and that’s okay!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As I mentioned earlier, I became a cast member! I have been working with Walt Disney World for a little over 5 years now! I currently get to work with kids doing royal makeovers in the castle!
Every job I’ve had has been with children and I enjoy encouraging the younger generation to dream big and have a big imagination!
I’m most proud of my perseverance in life and positive outlook! I know I’m good at my job because I can genuinely become friends with the kids I work with and help them see how wonderful they are!
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
This is a hard question because so many things in life are important! What matters to me the most is helping people believe they have worth! Growing up in foster care molded who I am today, I could have ended up in so many worse situations but I was adopted by the most wonderful family at age 12! My mom and dad showed me love I didn’t think I deserved. I want everyone to feel like they deserve love and to know that they are loved! I’m so thankful for my opportunities and I want it to be possible for foster kids, homeless community, not “popular” kids, and anyone who feels like an outcast to have opportunities to become who they’re meant to be!
