Daily Inspiration: Meet Lindsay Agnew

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Agnew.

Hi Lindsay, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Born with a paintbrush in hand and a storyteller at heart—whether through words, visuals, or immersive experiences—I started drawing as a child and never stopped. After earning my degree in Graphic Interactive & Communications from Ringling College of Art & Design, I was recruited by Walt Disney Imagineering, where I contributed to themed entertainment projects like Epcot’s Test Track as an Environmental Graphic Designer. That experience showed me how powerful design can be when it tells a story, evokes emotion, and comes to life through unexpected applications across space and environment.

Throughout my career, I’ve helped brands grow by developing thoughtful marketing and sales tools—everything from packaging and brand identity to e-commerce assets, website graphics, event materials, and expo displays. I’ve learned how to bridge creativity with strategy to support both storytelling and business success.

Eventually, I founded Studio Agnew—a creative brand rooted in the deep inner world of my imagination. My creativity is often sparked by the clever, curious connections I see in everyday things. I aim to create work that resonates emotionally, invites wonder, and inspires people to feel a personal connection to each piece. Studio Agnew blends sustainability, storytelling, and joy into art and design that serves both kids and adults.

From interactive children’s books to original artwork, art prints, and sustainably handmade goods—I pour imagination into everything I create. I also collaborate with businesses to help visually communicate their mission in ways that are authentic and inspiring.

My journey has been anything but linear, but every chapter has shaped me into a creator who values wonder, purpose, and meaningful connection through art—and above all, imagination and creativity.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Since launching Studio Agnew in the fall of 2024, I’ve been on a mission to create my own opportunities and carve out a space where imagination leads the way. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned? It all takes time. Building a business isn’t just about creating—it’s about showing up every day with patience, persistence, and a willingness to learn through trial and error.

I’ve spent most of my career bringing other people’s visions to life, so stepping out on my own has meant learning how to build a business from the ground up—filing paperwork, getting documents in order, and figuring out the systems that keep things running. The truth is, it’s not hard once you start asking the right questions. It’s just about getting informed and being willing to learn. At times, I feel like I’m moving at a turtle’s pace. But slow doesn’t mean stagnant. Every small step I take adds to the foundation of something lasting.

It’s also challenging in a world that doesn’t always understand or value creativity. Less than 5% of people are considered truly creative, and sometimes it feels like I’m speaking a different language. A powerful example is a mural I designed in 2013 that was selected for a six-story parking garage next to the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Orlando. It was chosen to honor the city’s vibrant arts scene—but over a decade later, it still hasn’t been installed. It remains waiting in the wings, reminding me how long creative visions can take to come to life.

That said, I’ve had some incredibly rewarding milestones. My artwork was selected to appear on a water tower in Ormond Beach. I was a featured artist in the Trash 2 Trends fashion show, where I designed and built a sustainable outfit entirely from grocery bags. I’m now preparing to launch a pop-up shop to showcase my art prints and revisiting older pieces that once sat in drawers—some of which have evolved into children’s books that kids can now interact with and learn from. That full-circle moment still blows me away.

Studio Agnew isn’t just a business—it’s an extension of who I am. My creativity is my identity and my purpose. And the more I share with my community, the more I see how deeply people connect with it, especially children. Seeing their eyes light up when they experience my work reminds me exactly why I do this. People often ask, “What are you working on next?” And I love that curiosity—because Studio Agnew isn’t a phase. It’s a lifelong pursuit, and I’ll be creating for the rest of my life.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an artist, illustrator, designer, and author, and I run my own creative brand called Studio Agnew. I specialize in storytelling through art—whether that’s through interactive children’s books, public murals, sustainable fashion, or original graphic design. My work blends imagination with purpose, and I’m known for bringing ideas to life in vibrant, meaningful ways.

One of the things I’m most proud of is my ability to transform overlooked or everyday materials into something magical. I’m the author and illustrator of Princess Anna and the Twinkling Jewels, a children’s book inspired by leftover craft supplies in my studio. I also created a second children’s art activity book that helps kids turn abstract backgrounds into storybook scenes of their own. That project was rooted in my own childhood as a young artist in the ’90s, reminding me how powerful early creativity can be.

What sets me apart is that I don’t limit myself to one medium or audience. I’ve designed everything from murals and product packaging to interactive learning kits and immersive pop-up experiences. Whether I’m collaborating with Fortune 500 brands or selling prints at a local market, I lead with curiosity and a strong belief in the power of art to spark connection.

At the heart of it all, Studio Agnew is about turning creativity into something tangible—something people can hold, wear, read, or experience. I’m building a brand that invites others to imagine boldly, live artfully, and believe in what’s possible when you lead with heart.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was creating art before I even knew what art really was—before I could read or write, I was drawing, building, imagining. I was endlessly curious and daring enough to explore the worlds I was creating in my head. I was interested in everything. I played a ton of sports, joined school plays, tried every kind of art activity I could get my hands on. I was always exploring different avenues to see what I liked, how it made me feel, and how it connected me to people, ideas, or places.

That curiosity helped me recognize my skills and abilities at a young age. It shaped me into an independent thinker and gave me confidence in how I spent my time and who I wanted to become. I didn’t just dream—I created, explored, and grew. And that mindset has carried into everything I do today.
