Daily Inspiration: Meet Lleyton Lewis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lleyton Lewis.

Hi Lleyton, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started modeling at the age of 14. I think my first modeling gig was Dillards. It’s been a minute … hahaha. At 15, moved out to LA and was signed by Mavrick (Modeling, Theatrical, Commercial Print). People think it’s easy, but modeling takes hard work, many hours of training. Not to mention Acting is more Hours and Hours of training, but it’s fun work! People that are not in the biz don’t realize the work and rejection that goes on behind the scene, they just see the success. I was 16 when I first started walking in NYFW for multiple Men’s Designers. When I went to NYC, I said one day I would be up on one of those waterfall billboards, and at the age of 16 I was up in Times Square! It was so surreal seeing me up there, up in lights! Throughout the years, I’ve been so thankful being published internationally. I finished filming a Horror Film, it’s now in post-production, I think it releases in 2022/23. Currently, I have several photoshoots booked that will be happening in the next month. I can say one shoot will involve an InkMasters Artist and Motorcycles, so stay tuned! Really excited about it! COVID set me back on launching my new biz with my business partner, but fingers crossed will be launching soon. One thing to know about me is that I stay true to me, I’m not one that follows the trends, so what you see is what you get! So as an influencer, I only promote things that are me! I think it’s important to stay Uniquely You. Now that I’m 18 more doors are opening up for me so I can’t wait to see what the future holds!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been smooth because I’m not short! Being tall at a young age can hurt your acting career. Because being young, you can only work so many hours by law, so if they can get someone that is 18 that looks like they can play 14 castings will go with them. Or if you are 16 but can play 9, they will cast that 16 years old because they can work longer than the nine years old. So at age 16, I was already 6 ft so definitely could not play younger. I remember casting wanting to see me for a Jack Black Film but I was cut because I was too tall. So I started focusing on my modeling. But that had some obstacles as well because even though I was tall, I still had the babyface. It’s just now at the age of 18, I’m seeing doors open up for me. Everyone’s success happens at different times!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Definitely Modeling for right now, and it’s definitely my long hair that catches people’s attention! I’m 6’1, with hair past mid-back… not many guys have hair that long, so it definitely sets me apart from the crowd. I am considered High Fashion, I do a lot of Editorial Work and Runway. I try not to be typecast, but I do fall into that bad boy, surfer, skater boy image… hahaha The funny thing is I’m the total opposite of a bad boy, I’m definitely a Southern Gentleman.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I have started seeing more casting taking a look at me, which is awesome! I have been told from Casting Directors that they see in Action style Films, but they want me to Bulk up. They keep dropping the Actor, Jason Mamoa, which is funny because he is an Actor I look up to. So I’ve started working with a Trainer to help with that goal. Let’s just say it’s not easy! And hopefully, my beard comes in soon hahaha!
