Today we’d like to introduce you to Lucas Scaglia.
Hi Lucas, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
My story begins many years ago as a professional soccer player in the city of Rosario, Argentina. My first soccer club and where I made my debut as a professional was Newells Old Boys.
Later, I traveled to different countries and played in several soccer teams as Giannina FC, Panserraikos, and Kaloni in Greece; Bolivar in Bolivia, Once Caldas and Deportivo Cali in Colombia, Rijeka FC in Croatia, and finally soccer teams as Jacksonville FC and Las Vegas Lights here in the United States.
After I retired, I diversified my dreams and what I wanted to do for a living so I created my own company related to House Restoration, and also I started to focus on the development of young soccer players. I received the opportunity to start working as a Coach here in Orlando. I said “Yes,” and here I am.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been perfect, as a professional soccer player I went through physical injuries that sometimes did not allow me to play important games, but at the same time I have had very good moments, so I am not complaining.
As a coach, I feel bad when the team loses a match because the players feel sad and some of them are still learning how to handle that feeling, but well, is a process and from defeats, you also learn.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As a Soccer Coach, I work with kids around 15 and 17 years old (boys and girls).
I teach based on my experience what soccer is about and how to become a professional soccer player. I am very proud to see the evolution of my players and also proud to see in them the passion for soccer and the desire to win every game.
I don’t compare myself to others, I just want my players to be better every day and I hope that through soccer they can achieve what they want, whether it’s going to study at a university or being a professional in a soccer club in the world.
