Today we’d like to introduce you to Maggie Krentz.
Maggie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Maggie! I am the owner of Gloss Beauty Bar in Ormond Beach FL. Our beauty salon is your all in one beauty destination specializing in all wedding & event hair & makeup, hair color/cuts/extensions, semipermanent brows, and lash services.
I started my business while I was still in college. I quit my full time job as a banker and went full time to school for something I always loved, cosmetology. Unfortunately it was difficult to hold a job while being in school full time so what I did was start to build my business in school. I started servicing weddings and events hair and makeup by myself. I started investing in my kit, my products, and practicing my skills. I got so good that I was being booked constantly for weddings & events. I finally found someone to assist me & someone who I clicked with so well from a friend of a friend on Facebook & she was also a cosmetologist. We immediately started doing so good together and by the time I was finished with school, I was able to put all of my small savings and invest it into my first brick and mortar shop in South Daytona Fl. It got so busy that within a year, I was looking for a bigger location. Once Covid hit, I used the Covid funds for businesses & it helped me build out my dream salon. Now I’m here and have 10 people in the salon and we get to do what we love. I am so blessed and grateful to be where I’m at today with amazing people and artists next to me.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I don’t have one (I was in foster care my entire life until 14)
