Today we’d like to introduce you to Mark Jones
Hi Mark, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been married to Lisa Jones for nearly 34 years, and I have three adult children, Mark Jr. Marlesia, and Jude and one two year old grandchild, Nala.
In 2001, I was inspired to establish our nonprofit organization. Initially, we began with 20 individuals working out of a small garage, and over time, we have grown to include more than 2,000 partners. Following the launch of our initial efforts, we expanded our operations to encompass a college, five daycare centers, Alf—a private school—transitional housing programs, including foster care initiatives for boys, and a variety of other community-driven projects.
Starting with just two employees, we now employ nearly 70 staff members.
Furthermore, we have undertaken several international initiatives, such as founding orphanages, training leaders, and constructing worship centers across India.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Throughout the development of Manifestation City, we have faced numerous challenges, beginning with opposition from some community members driven by a fear of change. Additionally, we have encountered difficulties in securing permits and navigating the complexities of property rezoning.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My career as a business professional started at the age of 19 when I became an assistant manager for Great South restaurants. Subsequent to that I worked for for a couple of restaurant chains in the capacity of general manager. I founded Manifestations Worldwide in 2001 and have spent the last 24 years pioneering and advancing our endeavors.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Knowing that I am fulfilling my purpose.
Because I know that I am meeting the needs for which I was inserted into my generation.
