Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Fullana.
Hi Michael, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Michael Fullana discovered his passion for photography at just 14 years old. Completely self-taught, he immersed himself in books and magazines, studying the craft with relentless curiosity. By the age of 21, his dedication had already earned him publication.
Influenced by legendary fashion photographers such as Bruce Weber, Herb Ritts, Patrick Demarchelier, and Gilles Bensimon, Michael developed a deep appreciation for lighting and composition. He also drew inspiration from iconic landscape artists like Ansel Adams and Galen Rowell, blending their mastery of nature with the precision of commercial photography.
Over the course of a long and successful career, Michael amassed more than 35 magazine covers in the fitness industry and secured commercial clients including ABC, Disney, American Express, and many others. His work was known for its technical excellence and artistic polish.
Eventually, Michael chose to step away from the commercial world to pursue his lifelong dream: fine art landscape photography. With a perfectionist’s eye, he ensures that all of his prints—from canvas to archival—are produced in-house. His preferred medium is the acrylic print, which led him on a dedicated journey to find a custom printer capable of meeting his exacting standards.
Based in Oviedo, Florida, Michael is constantly on the move, traveling in search of exquisite light, compelling compositions, and the breathtaking natural beauty that defines his work.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I have been very blessed as it pretty much has been a very smooth road for me. When I first started shooting fitness and beauty, the submissions I made to the Fitness magazines ended up as magazine covers for the most part.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My work as a photographer is driven by a deep appreciation for light, place, and quiet moments that often go unnoticed. I focus on creating images that feel timeless and intentional, drawing inspiration from natural landscapes, subtle details, and the atmosphere of a scene rather than spectacle alone. Through careful composition and an emphasis on mood, my photographs aim to invite the viewer into a sense of calm, reflection, and connection with the environment. My proudest moments come when I see my images displayed in a gallery
Who else deserves credit in your story?
The person who deserves the most credit is my step dad. Not only did he support my endeavors he was always my assistant on photo shoots.
