Today we’d like to introduce you to Mitchell Freitas.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Moved to Orlando in 2011 from Boston, MA where I went to school at Full Sail University. Ended up falling in love with the city and decided to make it my home. Completed Full Sail’s intensive course program and graduated in 2013. In 2015 I found myself venturing into real estate. I loved it. It was such a great feeling helping people put down their roots in the city, either by relocation or by purchasing investment properties in the area, I felt like I was an ambassador for the region and was extremely excited to help people rediscover why Orlando is such a great place to simply “do life” in. I found that I was pretty great at it! (If you look me up on Google, my client reviews will attest to that!) During the last few years, I ended up getting a second degree in marketing with the aim of better equipping myself to market homes in better ways, through advanced strategies and technology. It’s paid off. By the end of Q2 this year, I’ve already sold close to $3 million in sales volume. It’s been a crazy journey of hard work, perseverance, and the continuous desire to prove myself as a highly experienced agent, despite my age.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been smooth sailing. From the very start of my career, I have not received many leads or business referrals from the brokerages I’ve been under. Nearly all of my clients have been a product of hard work, high investments in my marketing, and more. I’m trying to build a brand for myself, which is why I trademarked “Orlando Living” to better distinguish my services among the rest. I think my biggest obstacle has always been my age. I’ve often given business advice to agents with decades of seniority over me, but often still find myself having to demonstrate to clients that regardless of my age, I can get the job done and can do it extremely well.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a real estate agent with Premier Sotheby’s International Realty. I specialize in investment properties, luxury homes, and relocation. I’m also well known for being a very tech-savvy agent and use it to my advantage when marketing listed homes.
I am most proud of my marketing abilities. Prior to jumping back into real estate full time, I was the marketing director for a local fine arts firm. We were able to secure a partnership with One Sotheby’s in NYC and helped furnish the penthouse of 212 Fifth Avenue with millions of dollars worth of artwork. I was responsible for the marketing initiatives involving the artwork, which were eventually purchased in conjunction to the penthouse by none other than Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon.
It is my ability to bring that same marketing prowess into the sale and promotion of properties.
What matters most to you?
The positive impact I can bring to those around me. In everything I do, I strive to do with excellence so as to leave a long lasting impression on everyone I come in contact with. My life’s purpose is to inspire, encourage, and show others that they can achieve anything even if the odds are against them.
