Today we’d like to introduce you to Myesha Mcgee.
Hi Myesha, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I found myself in skincare by accident honestly. After an 18 years career in Public Health at the time, I found myself burned out, overwhelmed and uninspired. To escape my systematic 9-5 life, I often spoke to my younger girlfriends who were blooming as they pursue different entrepreneurships in various industries like fashion, beauty, retail you name it, they had their hands in it… So a very good friend who was doing my hair at the time would tell me about all her plans expanding her services and her brand. When she spoke you could hear the excitement in voice! I remembered being so intrigued! I remember thinking to myself, wow she really enjoys genuinely what she does! Then one day as we were talking, she came out of nowhere and asked me, “My, are you doing what you love” I had no answer. She challenged me to dig deep and find what I love… I knew whatever it was, has nothing to do with the medical field. As a Disease Intervention Specialist, my job is informing the public of as some say “bad news” so I knew I wanted to make people feel good about themselves. Skincare came about after thinking I was signing up for a makeup artistry course. Best mistake I ever made!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely not an easy street… working 9-5 and using your brain intensely, writing cases that will be reviewed by the state, meeting deadlines on top of the educational aspect of my job, 5pm your brain is pretty much mush. So if I have to say, the hardest thing was staying committed to going to class 4 days a week and learning something totally new.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a Licensed Esthetician in the Kissimmee area, providing custom facials services, corrective skincare, full body waxing, and eyebrow artistry. I feel what sets me apart from other Esty’s is my passion to assure that each client feels they received a luxury service. I was that overwhelmed busy client once upon a time who feels they don’t have time or need to be pampered. Even if it was for a moment, I want them to leave saying wow, that was amazing!
Any big plans?
The future looks amazing! I will be officially launching my natural skin products “Pineapple Glow” It’s all handmade. It’s various soaps, body scrubs, body butters, bath soaks, and body/face oils. I chose the name Pineapple because it symbolizes welcoming something in your life, home, spirit and heart. I now welcome love, positive vibes, and authentic energy in every aspect of my life. Fear is not welcome here
