Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Young.
Natalie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
For years, I’ve had several people wanting me to write. I can remember working on Wall Street in New York for a prestigious Financial Publishing company. During my time there, I assisted in both their weekly and monthly magazines and this sparked interest in writing. I also have been inspired by other writers and now I find myself being the one who writes. I made the decision to begin my writing journey about 7 years ago. I wanted to find more ways that I could bring encouragement to others while sharing some everyday moments. It has amazed me how diversified my blog has become. There are so many things occurring constantly in life and I believe it’s important that we learn to take nothing for granted. Some things you can now find on my blog include: my thoughts about some tv shows/films; topics such as health, mental health, self-care, self-improvement, goal-setting; conferences and comic-cons and more. I also continue to collaborate with others with guest posts and articles.
I like to encourage my readers with these words:
Don’t let anyone or anything make you believe you are stuck.
There is always another way.
Keep pressing on and find it.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Although it has not always been easy, I can honestly say I love being able to write. One of the hardest struggles has been finding time to do all that is required to maintain interactions and grow my audience. Writing is not a hobby for me. I am being intentional with what content I share on my blog and on my social media. I want to ensure that my readers know that my content is meant to bring encouragement and joy. I also think it is important to be sure that my readers know that I sincerely appreciate support and interactions.
Although managing my time has been a challenge, I believe it is important and necessary. At times, I can feel overwhelmed by all the various responsibilities to keep an excellence in my work. At some point, when possible I hope to have an assistant to help in managing my daily activities and keep up with all the administrative work required in my writing and other responsibilities (which continues to be my passion).
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I would consider myself a Writer/Blogger/Creative and someone who is very passionate about bringing encouragement and inspiration to others. I enjoy getting to share some of my various moments on my blog, ‘Examine This Moment.’ There can be topics that range from mental health, general health (including some of my personal health journey) to things such as conferences, comic cons, sports, movies/tv show reviews, guest writer collaborations and even self evaluation and improvement to name a few. Writing has been a great journey for me and I am excited about where I go in my writing next.
I also want to mention that I have been working on writing my first book little by little. I am not sure when it will be completed. Again, finding moments to do has been challenging but I am trying to keep working on it. It is my hope to one day have it available and get to share it with everyone.
I also get to work alongside my husband at a non-profit, where we weekly have virtual times on Youtube. We love getting to bring hope and encouragement at ResplendencyInc. We have also cherished being able to work together with others in our community in trying to make a difference. We believe everything matters whether you can do much or little. We encourage everyone to ‘Stand Out and Shine,’ while you go about your day and remain purposeful in all that you do.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I can honestly say that my family continues to be my main supporters, cheerleaders and advocates. They have been a consistent source of sincere support encouraging me to continue on my writing journey. I am so thankful for their love and consistency in all that I do.
I am also very thankful to connect with other authors and bloggers online. This has caused me to come to a greater understanding of the writing process. You recognize the hard diligent endeavors are very rewarding. These writers share their experiences and expertise, wanting to help others succeed in their writing journey too. You get a sense that ‘if they can do it, so can you.’ I also can admit that I continue to be inspired by other authors who did not relent but continued on in their writing and now have been able to encourage many through it.
