Daily Inspiration: Meet Natasha Dealecio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natasha Dealecio.

Hi Natasha, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story, like many others, began with a lot of love and not much else. I was part of the best two person team ever, my mom and I. The struggle (for a long while) was real. I didn’t have much growing up but the strength and encouragement she instilled in me is what gave me the drive to always move forward and excel in every part of life. To treat everyone, no matter their status with kindness and to put God in the center of everything.

I had a passion for fashion at a young age and I remember so vividly drawing my “models” and singing a church hymn at the table. My mom jumped out of her seat and immediately said we needed to speak to the choir director. I then became the youngest member of the New Life International Choir, Bronx, NY.

My mom moved us to Naples, FL where I met my first mentor, Mr. Todd Peterson. He was the first person outside of family to fully believe in me and help guide me into my musical journey.

I was then accepted into the music program at the University of Central Florida. This was a huge deal at the time because I was the first member of my family to attend a University.

I had never had any private voice or piano lessons and realized early on if this is what I wanted, I was going to have to work VERY hard to catch up with the others.

I graduated with a degree in Vocal Performance, and like most young graduates was confronted with the question “what now?”

After spending a year driving in circles (I really did, I worked for the Safari attractions ride in Disney’s Animal Kingdom)

I decided to begin teaching private voice.

My 2nd mentor in life, Mr. Danny Flores of CoastCity, invited me to be the first vocal coach and songwriter at his recording studio in downtown Orlando.

He took me under his wing and afforded me so many opportunities where I was able to write and sell music, teach incredible individuals, network and connect with heavy hitters in the music industry and still hold true to my original reason of being in this profession, to love and encourage those around me to be the very best versions of themselves.

Shortly after, I created my own business, Natasha Live. I connected with TruSun Media recording studio where John La Rosa and Jason Ross elevated me to Artist development coach.

Presently I’m working with TSM, The MusicBox, and Paradise Studios.

My biggest joy currently is a new artist collective that I’m co-founder of where I get to create music with like-minded individuals whose goal and focus is to reach out and connect with creatives in the Orlando area and help make their musical dreams and visions come true. Community is everything and very powerful, we recognize that. My team, Louis Richner, David Posso, Carolina Posso, and Antonio Fernandez are on this journey with me. I’m excited to see how this continues to develop.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Many struggles! I remember feeling defeated so many times because I had learning disabilities I wasn’t even aware of when I was studying at the University.

I had to find ways to communicate my knowledge of the subject with my instructors outside of a normal testing situation at times.

I struggled learning the “ins and outs” of the business side of my career. I was always creating or performing but when it came to organizing and keeping track of bookings and invoices, I was so green.

My biggest struggle was confidence. I had to learn to really love myself enough to know I deserved to be in the rooms where I was because I worked hard and earned it. Nothing was handed to me.

I had to tell myself being a female in this industry meant I had to make my voice even louder to be clearly heard and that being assertive didn’t mean I wasn’t being kind.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a vocal coach, songwriter, vocal producer and Singer.

I love coaching! I nerd out when I get to talk about how the larynx works and how to create healthy sounds.

I’m currently the official vocal coach to EDM artist LUCII the Alien and The Beautiful Chorus. There are many amazing vocal coaches in the area who I’m friends with and look up to. Something that separates me from others is my ability to listen past the music… I’ve been told by my clients many times that I’ve helped them with major life decisions or problems. I’ve had younger students feel comfortable enough to “come out” to me first before telling anyone else they were part of the LGBTQ+ community. I’ve had students tell me they were suicidal and hopeless.

My heart is to serve and being in this position where people feel comfortable enough to know I’m a safe place to land is my life’s biggest blessing.

I’m quite passionate about songwriting and vocal producing. I love being able to make something from nothing. I enjoy co-writing with other songwriters and seeing the journey of where a song started to how it ends.

It’s honestly one of the most therapeutic exercises one can do.

I’ve written jingles and done voiceovers for major business’s like Paradise Grills, The Startup Studio, and more.

I’ve also co-written the official theme song for Female Champion American Ninja Warrior Megan Martin.

Performing is something I love to do but I’ve honestly never felt natural doing. I’ve always been a “behind the scenes” type of girl but growing up, I remember my mom telling me to never shoot down an opportunity out of fear. My first major performance was opening up for the artist Pat Benatar. That was truly a dream come true as I loved her music so much growing up.

That experience opened the door for me to be able to open up for Jake Owen, Chris Janson, Colt Ford, American Idol Scotty McCreery, and the late Charlie Daniels.

Ironically enough country music wasn’t my preferred genre at the time (I’m a pop singer and songwriter) but something I’ve learned in this business is to say yes first and then figure it out! I’m so thankful I did. Those are cherished moments and opportunities I’m beyond grateful for.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Just reach out! My business is 100% collaboration so if you’re looking for vocal coaching, songwriting, do to production at a recording studio then feel free and connect with me! I’ve got an amazing team I work with that covers everything from music production to videography.
