Today we’d like to introduce you to Nikki .
Hi Nikki, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
My name is Nikki, and I am a self-taught content creator partnered up with a network marketing business, mentor, and your beauty BFF. I get to mentor globally ( currently in 9 countries) and help empower women to create the lifestyle of their dreams through social marketing. I started my journey as a flight attendant in 2019 when I thought I had finally found a job that would be fun and allow me to travel the world. However, my experience was not as glamorous as it appears on social media or in movies. I found myself living paycheck to paycheck, stressed, with no stability, and although I always remained positive, I was unhappy at the end of the day. If I’m being honest, I was ready to quit within the first 10 months. I had no savings, maximizing my credit card debt, and wasn’t making enough money or aligned with other side hustles I had at the time. Scrolling through IG as most of us do, I saw these hair products some girls were sharing without realizing there was an opportunity behind it and that I could probably do the same (of course, if I genuinely loved the products and values of the company). And as the Risk Taker that I am, despite my limiting beliefs, I decided why not just go for it. I had nothing to lose. In that year of December 2019, the only Christmas gift I bought was investing in this new partnership. Now, this didn’t mean I was retiring my wings just yet, but it was a vehicle to create more opportunities and streams of income. Three years in and I was able to change more than just the confidence in my hair, skin, and well-being. Still, I gained a fantastic community, leveraged my income by doing something I already do, and became a better version of myself. My journey has been a roller coaster, and my goals got bigger, so I’m not where I want to be yet, but I am ahead of where I started.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There are always going to be challenges. The biggest challenge is getting others to see the bigger picture of an opportunity and helping them through personal development when they are unwilling to get uncomfortable or grow from those limiting beliefs.
However I have to say that My biggest lesson is not to have expectations of people or on what you think your life is supposed to be. Have goals and ambitions and want what’s best for others. Meet people where they want to be met. Not everyone wants the same things as you, and that’s ok. Secondly, only some things go as planned when you’re working towards your dreams; learn to pivot and strap in tight while riding the roller coasters.
Ultimately I have learned a lot of resilience in my journey, and it’s now the thing I am most proud of.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Yes, I am the girl who shares her shampoo & skincare products, but you know what’s excellent about what I do?! It’s being able to help that girl embrace her curls, see a mom get her confidence back, or share the same opportunity with the college girl who wants to grow her bank account while she’s taking 5 classes and too burnt out to find a part-time job.
I will never tell someone to quit their “9-5”; instead, I will say, let’s create multiple streams of income, develop outlets, and drive a vehicle of opportunities. Remember, you’re not stuck. You can change jobs; you’re allowed to do what makes you happy. Find that day job to pay your bills and work that side hustle to invest in the lifestyle you want to create till you can do it full-time.
