Daily Inspiration: Meet Philmy Portraits

Today we’d like to introduce you to Philmy Portraits.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was an art curator for years before I started taking on commissions. I use to draw for fun but nothing serious until one day I posted my art online and I’ve been receiving commissions every day for 4 years.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Dealing with the critics saying my art isn’t real art and constant trolls bashing and trash-talking my post. Other than that, it’s been smooth sailing love overpowers the hate.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a portrait artist. I’ve sold over 6500+ pieces worldwide over the last 4 years. I’ve accumulated over 1000+ 5-star reviews and have a following of over 37k. My current lead time is 15 weeks at the moment with over 500 ppl on Commissions list. I’m most proud of customers being 100% satisfied with my art.

What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
One of the most important lessons is to understand everyone will not perceive things the same. In my journey, I’ve embraced polarity and polarization some people love my art others not so much but that’s when you learned perceptive and perception. People will see things differently and that’s ok.
