Daily Inspiration: Meet Robert Crisp

Today we’d like to introduce you to Robert Crisp.

Hi Robert, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My family has been keeping bees since the early 1920’s all throughout Florida. They didnt sell their honey retail but to packing houses by the 55 gallon drums. So after my time in Iraq with the Marine Corps, I restarted the business due to the lack of PURE unadulterated honey in our area. Having been born here in Osceola County and being the 4th generation beekeeper, I knew how important bee pollination was needed locally. So I formed alliances with local ranchers and farmers so that I could pollinate their crops, collect honey and have bee yards where we could maintain hundreds of hives at a time. In the beginning I sold our products just in farmer’s markets but the demand quickly grew so I took this hobby to the next level and in 2014 I opened our first retail store for 3Beez Honey Farm! We quickly outgrew our original location and then in 2021 we opened our retail store in downtown St Cloud.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Our story of success is directly involved with the level of hard work it takes to be a farmer with migratory beekeeping. I work 48hrs a week at my regular job for Kissimmee Utility Auth, then as much time that is needed with 3Beez. Sometimes its bottling honey, sometimes its being out late at night moving hundreds of hives to the local blooming crops. Its a very dynamic business!
As you can imagine, opening a retail location that just sells honey could be an uphill challenge. But we’ve been able to make our own niche with products made in house.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I spent 8 years in the Marine Corps. Ive been to over 27 countries and was in the front lines of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
