Today we’d like to introduce you to Rose King.
Hi Rose, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my career path in the medical field when I was in high school. I took classes to understand the different opportunities that were available. While volunteering at a local nursing home, I discovered that I enjoyed emergency medicine, which lead me to work in Fire Rescue for a few years. I later became a medical office manager overseeing five medical facilities in the greater Orlando area. I was discovered by a Neurologist who was relocating to the area, where I was hired to open and operate his neurology clinic. I decided to take a break from the medical field and my career path as I was challenged with a high-risk pregnancy. My husband (who left restaurant management) and I started a landscaping business, where we discovered that owning our own time was fantastic for our growing family; it started with some incredible challenges that we were blessed to work through. A new business opportunity was presented to us that we just couldn’t refuse. We purchased a turn-key business that had been established in 2007. While it needed some rebranding and marketing, we were up for the challenge. In 2019 we became the new owners of Healthy Tanks. It is a mobile RV Holding Tank cleaning business that covers all of Central Florida. We enjoy the opportunity to explore new places and meet people from all over the world while operating a company that we are passionate about. Who knew that my love for Human Health Science would play a role in the microbiome of an RV Holding Tank?
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
While this has not always been a smooth journey, we have faced every challenge head-on; typical business financial needs, equipment repairs, and the like; the biggest challenge was the recent pandemic. Healthy Tanks were in high demand. We found that people were purchasing Recreational Vehicles so that they could continue to travel and enjoy the great outdoors. Having never owned or used an RV, people were purchasing the wrong toilet paper or not adding water to their tanks. The majority of our calls were tank clogs, and we needed to be readily available to timely assist the customer’s emergency. Essentially, we were working long hours during the pandemic.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Healthy Tanks is a mobile business servicing all of Central Florida that specializes in cleaning RV holding tanks and preventative maintenance. We provide education to our customers on maintaining healthy tanks. Our business also provides services that accommodate mobile RV mechanics before they make repairs to RV holding tanks. We enjoy RV rallies, large and small providing seminars, vendor booths, and onsite services.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Being business owners, we are always in a work mindset. We constantly think of ways to not only grow our business but how we can better serve our customers. We work hard, and we like to play hard. We not only have a love for travel but also for boating deep sea fishing, scalloping, and lobster diving. Something about the ocean that calms the mind and is so relaxing.
