Daily Inspiration: Meet Sara Priester

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sara Priester.

Sara, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
A few years ago, I started dreaming of owning my own boutique. I started a business plan and began envisioning what my business could be. Being a busy stay-at-home mom, I had to put my dreams on hold. Last year, I gave birth to our third son, Kash. When he was about two months old and we started getting out of the newborn chaos and into a routine, I knew it was time to get back to the drawing board. I created RKR Collective.

My three boys are the inspiration behind the name RKR Collective. I am currently an online boutique but I will be a vendor at a few pop-up events throughout the year. My brand is just beginning but I know I will achieve great things, most importantly I’ll show my children that they are capable of achieving their dreams too.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being a new business owner and a mom of three definitely hasn’t been easy. Finding a balance between their schedules and giving myself time to create, market, and get orders together is still something I’m working on!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
One of the things that I am most excited about with my new business adventure is doing pop-up events as a vendor. We recently did one in Oakland at the Heritage Day Festival. I will also be at Sunsational Farms in Umatilla on April 8th for an Easter Market as well! My boutique has apparel for women & kids, handmade items such as macrame & car charms and I also take custom orders for shirts and car charms.

I use sublimation printing to create custom orders. It has become such a fun hobby for me to sit down and design things for customers or just create my own visions! I’m really proud of what I’ve created so far and can’t wait to share more products soon.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
I personally feel that we create our own “luck”.

I have always believed that a positive mindset leads to a positive life. I don’t think that approaching any goal with negativity will bring you luck or success. Look at the positives in life, be kind to yourself & others, and don’t give up on your dreams.
