Today we’d like to introduce you to Scott Breeyear.
Hi Scott, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I moved to Florida in 2000 and started an interior trim company named New England Trim and at the time and for the first year, it was just myself. At the time, I installed trim for a national home production builder and as time went, they gave me more work so I started hiring trim carpenters and before I knew it, I had 50 plus carpenters and we trimmed out about 3000 houses a year. Then the economy went flat and I need to think of different ways to keep everyone working so at the time I had a friend that owned a Cabinate business and he needed some help so shortly after I bought some big machinery and we moved into a building and started installing fancy closets, pre-finished decorative oak stair treads with decorative railing, baths, over the next few years I was asked to take down some old barns so we grew into taking down barns in New Hampshire and in the midwest and these were old early 1740-1806 barns and we started offering barn doors and hand-hewn beams. Then a couple of years ago, I hired some amazing finish carpenters and started offering that we will make anything you want out of wood and anything from the crazy ideas to the basic we started taking wood slabs epoxying them into beautiful tables, countertops and furniture we also have our Florida contractor license so we can also build additions or a brand new home also as my motto New England trim a world of options…
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It was smooth until 2007 when the downturn came and it took a couple of years to get back on track.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Trim carpentry is what started this company but now we are known for making anything out of wood and producing some of the most beautiful pieces of wood. We are state of the art with the most advanced machines and some of the best carpenters in the world.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love Orlando how pretty it is and it is a very versatile city. Bad is the crime lately.

Wow! These look like heirlooms that can be handed down from generation to generation! I’m saving up to get one for sure 🙂
