“Morse Code Lounge was founded in October 2023, born from a shared passion for wine between my business partner, U.S. Marine, and myself. We envisioned creating a welcoming space where like-minded people could come together to build a genuine community. While my husband, Rob Sassos, and US focused on the cigar side of the business, I quickly became captivated by the rich stories behind each unique wine selection. I was also introduced to the art world, which deeply inspired me. Embracing both wine and art, I’ve built Morse Code Lounge by surrounding myself with creative, passionate individuals. It’s been an incredible journey blending these elements to create a vibrant, welcoming space that celebrates community, creativity, and shared passions.”
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
“Nothing in life comes easy, but it’s your passion that makes the road less bumpy. For us, one of the challenges has been that the appreciation for the finer things—the lifestyle of savoring good wine, cigars, and art—isn’t always a priority for many people today. That’s something I’m passionate about changing. I believe in creating a space where people can slow down, connect, and truly enjoy these experiences, and that vision keeps me motivated through the ups and downs.”

“I’m deeply involved in building and nurturing Morse Code Lounge, a unique space that blends the appreciation of fine wine, cigars, and art to create a vibrant community. I specialize in curating exceptional wine selections and weaving the stories behind them into memorable experiences for our guests. What I’m most proud of is creating an inclusive environment where creativity and passion thrive—a place where people can come together to enjoy and celebrate life’s finer things in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.
What sets me apart is my dedication to blending different worlds—wine, cigars, and art—into one cohesive experience. This multifaceted approach, combined with my passion for storytelling and community building, allows me to offer something truly unique. I don’t just focus on the products but on fostering connections among people who share similar passions.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
“My favorite childhood memory is growing up in Winter Park and spending time at my father, William F. Beaty Jr.’s restaurant on Park Avenue, where I visited often as a young girl. My father’s deep passion for music inspired me to develop a great appreciation for it as well. I’ve carried that love of music into Morse Code Lounge by seeking out talented musicians to enhance the atmosphere of our beautiful space. The days I spent growing up in Winter Park are ones I will always cherish—it truly was the best of times.”
