Daily Inspiration: Meet Shaun Pittman, Jr.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shaun Pittman, Jr.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve been a creative individual for what seems like my whole life.

I initially chose to start modeling as a way to become a better photographer but fell in love with the artistry. I love how free and expressive I get to be in front of the camera to create something beautiful.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My biggest struggle has been maintaining my mental health throughout this journey. Sometimes I have to remind myself to slow down and put myself before the camera.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I love to draw, paint, and model. Modeling has been what I’m most known for and proud of these days. I feel like I’m set apart from others in the way I can change or maintain a specific type of energy or emotion in front of the camera.

So maybe we end by discussing what matters most to you and why?
Representation. Growing up, I had never found myself the most attractive or photogenic.

I never felt like I fit the “beauty standard” because I never saw people that looked like me in magazines or ads. So I must do my best to broaden what mainstream beauty is depicted to be.
