Daily Inspiration: Meet Stephanie Townsend

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Townsend.

Hi Stephanie , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As a little girl inside watching my grandmother sewing clothes and she would make my dolls clothes and as I got older I picked it up. When I got pregnant with my son in 2004 I made a pillow for his crib and I started sewing and after my son was born I stopped to be a mother and a wife so I put it on the back burner. In 2015 I was diagnose with cancer and while my family and friends cried because they said I’m strong and I’m always there for everyone so I picked up sewing again and I put encouraging words and picture on them and all though I was going through chemo and radiation I still kept sewing and smiling even when I had died on the table I never gave up what God could do for me in my life so La Pillows By Stephanie & More means love all pillows by Stephanie & More

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road and in 2012 I got a divorce and became a single mom try to start a business with a little money but every time I looked at my son’s face I kept pushing and believing that I could do it and be a business woman but also losing my brother to cancer.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I make hand sewn pillows of all kind the pillow lady and I’m always smiling and in good spirit what I’m proud of is even though I’m going through cancer for the second time I still believe and when I sold my first pillows it was international and I was proud of my work and the quality and the love I put into my pillows

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I give credit to God first and foremost and my son Trevon and mom Lottie and wiggins and Townsend family and my boyfriend Larry and my children hood friend Sol and my customers and other friends.
