Daily Inspiration: Meet Thalia Sophia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Thalia Sophia.

Hi Thalia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hi, thank you so much for having me! My name is Thalia Sophia, and I’m a singer/songwriter, recording artist/performer, and content creator based in Orlando. When I was in college, I was actually pursuing a completely different path- I was working towards going to medical school. However, as I got closer to graduating I realized a big part of what makes me happy was missing. That part was music and creativity. Throughout my life, I had always sung and performed for fun, but I had to let go of my hobby during college due to the difficult course load. So, after graduating, I decided to take some time to explore if music and creativity was the missing key to my happiness. I started to create content on social media regularly, write music again, began recording it on my own, and even found a local venue to start performing regularly again! Since then, I feel like a much more authentic version of myself. I feel so lucky to be in a position where I can allow my creativity to flow freely and just see where it takes me.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Since I have decided to pursue music and content creation on a regular basis, I have found myself much more happy and free. However, the elusiveness of the music industry is definitely a point of struggle. It’s been difficult navigating how to find opportunities and how to promote my original music. I definitely feel like I’m driving blind. But at least it’s an exciting ride.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a multicultural, trilingual singer/songwriter trying to make music that will bridge the continents in my blood. As a German-Latina in America, I have a multitude of musical inspirations to draw from. I hope to channel all my cultures in my original works and create music that makes people of all backgrounds feel seen and heard. I’m also proud of how easy it is for me to completely transform on stage out of my introverted quiet self into a loud vibrant character.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Even if you don’t feel supported currently, you will find your people and your place if you just keep going and reach for your dreams!
